We had a one-night stay at Holiday Inn Express Sydney Airport and found it to be a comfortable and convenient choice before our flight. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, though we did encounter one staff member the next morning who seemed impatient and frustrated. She still provided the information we needed, but her attitude wasn’t as welcoming as the rest of the team. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a nice touch of both soft and firm pillows labeled for preference. The beds had toppers, making them extra comfortable—we had a really good rest before catching our flight. A great perk was the complimentary breakfast, which was quick and convenient before heading to the airport. If you’re leaving before breakfast hours, they also offer packed breakfasts—a thoughtful service. Additionally, the hotel provides a free shuttle to the airport, which is a great option for future guests. Overall, it was a solid stay for a short transit, with good amenities and a comfortable night’s sleep.

Very impressive service, cleanliness and convenience. Comfortable bed with labeled pillowcases for soft and firm choices. Love the food ordering system with QR codes to your room or table. Not too fancy but practical and price worthy. Lovely reception/bar/breakfast zone the friendly and efficient staff! Best of the convenient hotels around Sydney airport! Highly recommended!

I had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express next to the Sydney Airport, during a recent overnight layover. The bed was super comfy, the location was convenient, the complimentary breakfast was a bonus and it was spotlessly clean... But most remarkable was how helpful and kind the staff was when I dropped my phone on the airport shuttle and had to courier it to my home address in Canada. They really went above and beyond. A big shoutout to Harry especially - he's awesome!! Will stay again when I'm back in Sydney.

I stayed at this hotel twice on a recent overseas trip, once on the outbound journey in mid-February, and again on the inbound trip on 20-March. Both times the Air Conditioning was NOT working effectively, particularly during the March stay. The room was hot and stuffy upon entry, and despite turning the fan up to maximum and the temperature down to minimum, not much changed overnight. Additionally, during the March stay there was only one dirty cup and no spoons. Normally there are 2 cups and 2 tea spoons. To make it worse, the one cup available had old coffee stains on the outside of the cup's lip. Disgusting room presentation. The room also had a dirty feel, but that could have been a side effect of the room feeling hot and stuffy. The bed comfort and other room facilities were of a good standard. This was my 4th stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Mascot since August last year, and will probably be my last stay. When I checked out of my March stay on 21-March prior to 6am, the night manager (I assume) couldn't even be bothered to ask if everything was OK when I handed him my door card. He just took the door card and continued talking with a delivery guy who was already at the desk before I checked out. Very disappointing overall.

Appalling unsympathetic and rude behaviour by staff. Arrived early and my room was not available which was fine. Asked if there was anywhere we could sit and was informed we should leave and come back later. Ended up sitting Downstairs with the Valet. Regardless of the fact there was supposed to be a 'great room' which offers a place for all day dining. When asked if there was any food to be purchased I was told this was unavailable until 5pm. We were also not offered access to the great room while we waited. We waited for about 4 hours Other guests kept telling us they had been able to check in early and that we should ask again. Each time we asked the receptionist seemed impatient and I only saw her actually check on her computer once in the many times we asked. We ended up cancelling our booking and went somewhere else. The experience was night and day. The new hotel our room also wasn't ready however they took us to a lounge we could sit in. Stored our luggage and took my phone number so they could call us when the room was ready. These are things that I would have expected the holiday inn to do as well given its rating. I am not sure how this hotel managed to get 4 stars but with its treatment of customers especially ones who have already paid I was appalled. I have stayed at many 4 star hotels and this was the worst. Also someone stole our prepaid taxi when trying to leave.
