Reviews for Sofitel Sydney Wentworth

I really enjoyed the service at the hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. Plenty of options available! I expected the room to be very small because of other peoples reviews but it was fine for one or two people. It was in a perfect location, my training was just down the road in the Chifley business centre. I prefer this Sofitel over the one in Darling Harbour just solely based on the warm greeting of the staff in the reception area as you walk in. I’ll get more photos next time I go back and I will update this.

From the lovely Vanessa at check in to Sean's great customer service at the Wentworth Bar to the incredible meal at Delta Rue................Sofitel Wentworth did not disappoint. The new refurb throughout the entire hotel is really lovely. The rooms are really well appointed and have everything you need. Great in- room coffee and a return to a really great mini bar selection.....Nice to see. Our superior room overlooked the iconic semi-circle side of the hotel................beautiful architecture!!! Thank you Sofitel Wentworth for a great stay............we will definitely be back.

Firstly. I am not a fan of Screen Check in. Somehow, a lovely receptionist helped me out. Thank you A lady wandering around the Lobby. and telling me the restaurant is fully booked. I didn't ask for it. And I will never have dinner at the Lobby restaurant. Higher Floor booked. Thank you. However, the room fan was noisy. The tiny room and bathroom were disappointing. The Renovation was only focused on the Lobby area. Others were just newly painted. nothing more. No swimming pool. Drinking on the noisy 5th floor. It was just another average Pub experience. I couldn't stand it. I couldn't even use my welcome drinks. Ahh.. I am disappointed. This is not a Sopitel Class Hotel..... Comapring to all other Sopitel

Ah, the Sofitel Wentworth. Where expectations come to die, and French hospitality is reimagined as a performance art piece titled "I Spit On You (With a Hint of Indifference)". We arrived brimming with optimism at 1pm. The room wasn’t ready – fine, fair enough, we’re reasonable people. We came back a little after 2 and voilà, the room was good to go. Our luggage, however, was still parked in the hallway like a lost sheep. Apparently, storing bags securely is passé – perhaps it’s part of the hotel’s avant-garde trust exercise? All a bit weird considering the plethora of WhatsApp messages they send...had to block them. The room itself was a masterclass in spatial compromise. Two doll-sized double beds squeezed into a space so tight that opening a suitcase required a synchronised breathing routine. The bath? More of a ceremonial foot soak unless you’re under 160cm or particularly fond of curling into the foetal position. We were told it had been recently renovated. The new aesthetic is what I’d describe as “Nick Cave meets mood lighting with a touch of corporate depression”. That same funereal vibe carries into Club Millésime – where, credit where due, the food was genuinely delightful. Breakfast, afternoon tea and canapés were lovely, but the service had all the urgency of a sleepy mime. Occasionally, you are noticed. Mostly, you're not. As a gold Accor member, I naively expected some recognition – or at least civility. Asked for a 2pm checkout. Was told flatly “No”. But I could pay $50 for a 1pm departure. What a privilege. At the Intercontinental, gold status gets you a 4pm checkout. At the Sofitel, it gets you a firm slap of “non”. So here I am, with a 6pm flight, two mildly exhausted children, and nowhere to go for six hours – because apparently customer experience is just so last season. tldr: the rooms are tiny, the charm is elusive, and the attitude is big. The only thing five-star about this stay was the disappointment. Next time, I’ll take my chances with a roadside motel – or literally anywhere else. Basil Faulty would be proud of what they managed to achieve here.

Comfortable room. Not massive but the bed was comfortable and lots of pillows. The TV was not great and difficult to chromecast. The location is not the best for convenience but 5min walk to get to restaurants in the evening. The fish bowl salad place is nearest and handy. Staff service to check in was great and really helped me out.
