Unfortunately, this is a five star hotel that doesn’t feel like one. There is a self service check in and a very average looking lobby. The hotel has apparently been renovated but it did not show from the room. The wardrobe did not open fully because of a bench seat directly in its path. There was an extremely narrow door leading into a tired looking bathroom. And, the room was dark and a very odd shape, thanks to the horseshoe configuration of the building. The breakfast buffet was very, very average and the service was good at best. For the price point, this is not a great choice if you want a proper five star hotel.

We enjoyed a wonderful few days here. The suite was spacious, spotless and very quiet. An upgrade, dessert tray and wine made our wedding anniversary extra special. The staff are readily available and very helpful.

Run away from this hotel. This hotel is a fake Sofitel. This hotel is not worth of the price. For the same price, I recommend Sofitel Darling Harbour. Stop saving money and hire more staff, care about guest. Sofitel Wentworth would be a better hotel if they improve on the following. 1. If there are many check-in guests, the staff will often sit and the guests will often stand for a long time. The presence of a mid-wall makes it happen easily for the late arrivals to check-in first. The check-in staff does not give proper guidance to the white guests who are cutting in line. Self-check-in induction is an act that is not done in a two-star hotel. While standing, you can hear everything about person in front of you including late-check-out time. 2. Renovated to improve the facilities, but the windows are still old-fashioned so vulnerable to noise and insulation. We have to take care of a toilet bowl several times to stop the water dripping after using the toilet. Sometimes the TV mirroring is not done in some rooms. The bed head can smell. 3. Attitudes toward service. Although I was a Platinum member, the staff give me to check-out at 12 o'clock because it was fully booked. It is very unfortunate that I heard the check-out time of the person in front of me when I checked in. Moreover, I got a call at 11:30 a.m. that the check-out time had passed. After that, they said it is ‘no problem’. But it is problem. For an hour in the 5th floor Club Millesim we were abandoned. The staff didn’t take orders for drinks, didn’t take away plates or cups, and they didn't recognize us until the end of the happy hour.

The hotel is in a great location. The Wentworth has recently been renovated and the rooms are clean and sparkly. Sadly, in the renovation they didn't put in double glazing. Therefore, the rooms are not as quiet as they could be. There is a tendency for extraneous noises to come into the room. Also, the plumbing has its own vicarious noises at different times of the day and night. There is a unique feature where a light under the side table lights up as you put your foot on the ground so you can have light in the room as you do any night duties. This could be disconcerting for some as the light could interrupt your partner's sleep. The smart view wasn't working on our TV. We tried several devices that had paired in other hotels. It's a busy lobby most of the time. However, the added feature for this upmarket hotel is several self check-in desks.

We enjoyed the location to the Circular Quay area. Very walkable area. We really liked the new rooms and lobby areas, but they were so new that they were still working things out. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a very loud noise (sounded like a fog horn) in our room and after 2 nights of being awakened from sleep our room was moved and it was much better - no noise! Work is still being done in the hotel and i'm sure it will be a wonderful experience when the work is completed. Beautiful buffet brunch too.
