This was our first stay at a Sofitel Hotel after hearing many positive opinions about their hotels. Unfortunately, this one was a HUGE disappointment. It started off with the highly impersonal check-in: no human to greet you...just you and a computer terminal. Really!?!? Aren't hotels supposed to be part of the hospitality industry?? My first interaction at this hotel was with a computer. Unbelievable. We checked in and the room was another disappointment: allow me to give you all the details: 1. This was among the SMALLEST hotel rooms we ever stayed in. We had 2 pieces of luggage and we needed to shove the single chair over to one side to allow both pieces of luggage to fit in the room. 2. The nightstands are only that: the nightstands do NOT open, thus not allowing ANY storage. 3. The tiny closet had virtually NO storage space. A useless ironing board took up an entire portion of the closet and there was only ONE shelf above the board. If you placed any clothes on that shelf and they got pushed to the back, you would never see them (unless you were at least 6'5". 4. There was no shelf space in the bathroom and very little place to hang towels. So, although we are all for reusing towels, we couldn't do so since there was almost no place to hang them. 5. The toilet paper holder is so low, that you need to bend down to fetch some. 6. There were no facial tissues in the room and I needed to request them twice in order to get a box. 7. Loud and rowdy patrons woke us up at around midnight. That does not reflect the hotel staff, but it was the icing on the cake. Pluses: the bed was comfortable. All in all, I will never stay at another Sofitel. I'll take Hilton any day, as I can rely on their rooms to be decently sized, comfortable, and be greeted by a human at check in and check out.

The hotel is in a convenient location, the service is excellent, the lobby is beautiful as are the rooms. The rooms are smaller than a low end cruise ship cabin. Sit on the toilet and one foot goes under the sink. There is no counter space and no medicine cabinet. The shower door leaks by design. There is absolutely no storage whatsoever. Not one drawer or functional shelf or closet in the room. One closet is occupied by an ironing board and accessories. Only one luggage portable stand so no room for a second suitcase- great if you’re traveling alone and for a night or two. The few shelves are filled with glassware and liquor, there is no room in the refrigerator since it’s full of service bar items. It’s a shame but it was designed to look nice, but not to accommodate more than one person for a very short stay. Dysfunctional is being gracious. Even the 2 nightstands are just boxes with no shelf or drawer. Wasted space.

All members of staff that we had contact with were extremely courteous and helpful. The hotel is beautiful, a short walk to Circular Quay, the Rocks, and Martin Place. The buffet breakfast was outstanding with everybody's palate catered for. Highly recommend and can't wait to stay again.

This hotel is in a fantastic location but for what you get for the money can only be described as "average". The new check-in and check-out system is the best I have seen anywhere except for an issue with our upgrade. Also, despite our preferences loaded into the All app (most notably being away from the elevators) we were located right next to them I can only conclude that as we used points to reduce the cost of this room we were put into the lowest class room available. Being a member of the loyalty scheme counts for nothing. Also, I ate a cookie that was in the tea and coffee drawer and copped an $8 mini-bar charge post checkout making it one of the most expensive cookies I have ever eaten...

We had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Wentworth Sydney. The room was lovely—clean, comfortable, and well-appointed—and we were especially grateful for the thoughtful gift waiting for us upon arrival. The bed was incredibly soft, ensuring a great night's sleep. Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection of fresh and tasty options. Everything about our stay was excellent, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality. Thank you for a fantastic experience! We look forward to returning.
