The hotel is in a great location. The Wentworth has recently been renovated and the rooms are clean and sparkly. Sadly, in the renovation they didn't put in double glazing. Therefore, the rooms are not as quiet as they could be. There is a tendency for extraneous noises to come into the room. Also, the plumbing has its own vicarious noises at different times of the day and night. There is a unique feature where a light under the side table lights up as you put your foot on the ground so you can have light in the room as you do any night duties. This could be disconcerting for some as the light could interrupt your partner's sleep. The smart view wasn't working on our TV. We tried several devices that had paired in other hotels. It's a busy lobby most of the time. However, the added feature for this upmarket hotel is several self check-in desks.
Hi team, I last stayed at your hotel a couple of years ago before the extensive renovations were completed. The hotel has been restored beautifully. Very nice atmosphere, Club Sofitel very comfortable now, private check in appreciated. Request for room upgrade if available, early check in and late check out was able to be accommodated. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Well done to the entire team on your grand opening weekend.
We experienced two superior rooms and found the external noise insulation in both to be very poor. We only remained in the second room because we couldn’t face moving rooms a second time. Staff are generally very good and attentive. Way finding/signage needs improving. Sort of a 5 star hotel but not quite.
We enjoyed the location to the Circular Quay area. Very walkable area. We really liked the new rooms and lobby areas, but they were so new that they were still working things out. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a very loud noise (sounded like a fog horn) in our room and after 2 nights of being awakened from sleep our room was moved and it was much better - no noise! Work is still being done in the hotel and i'm sure it will be a wonderful experience when the work is completed. Beautiful buffet brunch too.
For a 5 star hotel rooms are very small (shoulder width doors n narrow bathroom bi doors). finishes within the room looked like a toddler had done them (tiles in bathroom had dried grout on them, paint from ceiling on tiles, square hole in wall for round tap therefore a gap for vermin to get through) We couldn't use the air-conditioning as it leaked onto the floor. It looked like a long time problem as carpet was stained. Positive note: great location for the metro
