The Sofitel Sydney Wentworth offers a refined and elegant stay in the heart of the city, blending classic luxury with French-inspired hospitality. The suites are impressively spacious—ideal for travelers who appreciate room to relax or work. The separate living area, large windows, and plush furnishings create a comfortable and upscale atmosphere, making it feel more like a high-end apartment than a hotel room. Guests with Club Lounge access will appreciate the added level of comfort and exclusivity. The lounge offers a quiet space to unwind with light refreshments, evening canapés, and a solid breakfast spread. The staff in the Club Lounge are attentive and professional, often going out of their way to provide personalized service. However, the hotel does have its downsides. It’s an extremely busy property, often hosting conferences and events, which can make public areas feel crowded. One of the most noticeable drawbacks is the wait time for the lifts. At peak times, especially in the mornings or early evenings, the elevators are slow and often full—something to keep in mind if you’re on a tight schedule. Watch out for “tips” added to your bill automatically. This is Australia and tips should not be required. Despite the hustle and bustle, the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth remains a polished and conveniently located choice for both business and leisure travelers.
I really enjoyed the service at the hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. Plenty of options available! I expected the room to be very small because of other peoples reviews but it was fine for one or two people. It was in a perfect location, my training was just down the road in the Chifley business centre. I prefer this Sofitel over the one in Darling Harbour just solely based on the warm greeting of the staff in the reception area as you walk in. I’ll get more photos next time I go back and I will update this.
We loved the stay and got a welcome treat for our Anniversary. We loved the breakfast, spread was great. Cot availability was so handy. Check in and out were a breeze. People were nice. Best of all, I left a great quality cardigan and realized weeks later, I called the hotel and they have it! This was a long shot calling them to check given it's been a while but they said they keep things left behind for a certain period, I think a month if I remember it correctly. Amazing experience! Definitely recommend, we'll be back for another staycation for sure!
We had a lovely stay celebrating our second anniversary at this hotel. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and delighted to find a thoughtful surprise of champagne and hors d’oeuvres waiting for us, such a beautiful gesture that made our celebration extra special. Our room had a balcony with a breathtaking view of the city, especially magical at night. The space was warm, spotless, and inviting, with a bed that was incredibly cosy and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and the genuine hospitality from the moment we arrived. I’ll definitely be staying here again whenever I’m in Sydney. Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable!
This hotel is a perfect place to stay and is well located to circular quay and public transport. Room was well appointed and had everything we needed. The Executive lounge was an amazing place to go and unwind. The staff were friendly and super efficient. The food served for breakfast/afternoon tea and canapés was delicious and we enjoyed the drinks too. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
