The hotel is alright and undergoing renovation but therefore is noisy. I don’t like amenities provided. Services is mixed as for example I had an early morning flight and the reception staff tried to help by offering a breakfast box which was nice. On the other hand, I arrived at the hotel for one night and at 12.45 noon I called the housekeeping to do some urgent laundry but was told they can’t do it as I am late and should give it before 12 PM. I do understand that they might be doing this outside at a third party but it is not what I expect from a 5 star hotel and especially the Sofitel. Quite disappointing honestly. I addition, I’ve seen better amenities in lower category hotels. Finally no water except tap offered and tasted terrible
I like the hotel. I didn’t stay but attended a Conference. It is a decent hotel however couldn’t do detail analysis as it is being renovated. The catering for conference is not bad and is quite good in taste and variety. I liked the location the most as it is only 9 minutes walk from St James train station and 3 minutes walk to Martin Pl station. I loved the cafe in the Arcade access to the hotel. The Conference rooms are very good.
A great start with a welcome call to ask what amenities I would like in my room on arrival, a lovely touch but amenities were not in the room and never arrived. Wine glasses were dirty in room and clearly had not been washed since the last guest checked out. The breakfast experience was terrible with limited options, structure and service from the team. I expect WAY more from Sofitel
Sofitel Wentworth has always had a great location. 5 minutes downhill to the Quay and my favourite place for a tipple, The Opera House Bar..30 minutes to Surry Hills and the great restaurants and bars, and the mall on the way. Although the renovations have not been finished, they seem to have revitalised the staff. The service was impeccable. Our renovated Prestige Suite was lovely. The new furniture very much an improvement. We have always loved the Sofitel beds. We will be back.
This Sofitel does not do the brand justice. I understand it’s difficult while renovating to maintain impeccable standards. However, whoever was responsible for cooking the hot items at breakfast is doing an absolutely terrible job. I even witnessed someone at an adjourning table spit out their food. I wasn’t surprised, I felt like doing the same. We usually love staying at Sofitel hotels, however, we will never be staying here again. Fantastic location though!
