Reviews for Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park

Our stay at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, the experience was top-tier. We were warmly greeted and pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a Club Executive Room—spacious, elegantly furnished, and perched on a high floor with stunning views. A lovely personal touch: my daughter was gifted a delightful Easter set with hot cross buns—a thoughtful gesture that truly stood out. The buffet breakfast deserves a special shoutout. With an incredible spread including flavorful dishes from the subcontinent, it even outshone the W (yes, that W—one of Marriott’s flashiest offerings). Impressive! The pool area was immaculate, and the heated pool and hot tub were perfect for winding down. The kids had an absolute blast—so much so that we barely had to plan extra activities. Hands down, one of the best hotels we've stayed at in Australia so far. Comfort, service, and attention to detail were all on point. Already looking forward to our next visit!

The perfect stay for my teenage daughter and me! We arrived early for a full day of shopping in the city, and being able to park onsite before check-in was so convenient. The location couldn’t have been better—right across from David Jones and ideal for the shopping and dining experience we were after. We loved being able to walk to the Opera House and The Rocks for dinner and breakfast. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. The beds were super comfortable, it was quiet at night, and everything was spotless. Clean, comfortable, and perfectly located—just what we needed!

Location is great, rooms are very comfortable, and the staff is super attentive, in particular at the front desk. On the other hand, a couple of management decisions had a very negative influence on my experience: First, the swimming pool closes too early, at 21:00, despite not having a life guard on duty, nor being staffed. However, the most negative experience comes from the lounge experience: they sold me a differentiated rate, more expensive, but that would give access to an allegedly exclusive lounge. The lounge on the 22nd floor is indeed very well appointed, with beautiful views of the park. It has capacity for 20 to 30 people, but the management sold the “exclusive package” to at least 100x that capacity. It was impossible to enter it, with dozens of guests barred at the doors. We were told that “due to unprecedented demand” they opened an overflow venue at the lobby. There, the situation was at least 10 times worse: the entire lobby of the hotel was packed with people, there was nowhere to sit, and the staff was desperately trying to keep it from collapsing. There were no checks or access control, anyone could just show up and join the horror show, even non-guests of the hotel. The scene was similar to an airport terminal on the first day of school holidays. A complete fiasco. I consider this greedy attitude unacceptable. I will seriously reconsider staying at this hotel again, but I am sure I will not be scammed by their lounge offer again.

Had an awesome Easter staycation at the Sheraton Grand Sydney. The Front Office Managers, Tony Chun and Katharine Pincaro arranged for everything to be perfect. Staff were professional, kind and accomodating. Buffet breakfast selection is one of the best we’ve had. We have 2 young kids and it’s a very kids friendly hotel. My family really enjoyed our stay and this is our 3rd time back. Highly recommended.

My friend and I went out for brunch last Sunday, and I have to say, the seafood buffet at the Sheraton Grand Sydney truly stood out. I’ve been to many seafood buffets around the city, but this one exceeded all expectations. The quality of the food was outstanding, fresh and beautifully presented by all the chefs. The staff was also amazing, they were incredibly attentive and made sure our drinks were always topped up. A special shout-out to Sofia, we had a lovely conversation with her. Highly recommend this place — I’ll definitely be coming back!
