We had the junior suite for 1 night as we had an event to go to in town. Our check in was from 2pm and we waited 35 minutes in line to check in + another 15 minutes for our room to be ready. We were offered an upgraded room for an extra $80 and when we said no thanks it dropped to $50. The stay was good, however the suite was very tired. The bathroom was okay but the cupboards were old & warped from the water, like the rest of the wooden furniture items in the room (dining, cupboards etc). Location great, service could be better, sleep was good

This hotel is in a fantastic location. The staff were fantastic Public transport on your doorstep. Clean. Nice rooms. Comfortable beds. There was only 1 lift working during our stay which made movement through the hotel challenging. I paid additional money for a park view but given we were on one of the lower floors all we could see was buildings. If you are charging more for a view then you should be given one. There are lots of choices at breakfast which is on the pricey side. I just saw a review that said the coffee isn't included so I guess I will see that charge soon. That was not advertised when they asked for our coffee order.

Sadly, I have to say I was severely disappointed with this stay and can honestly state that Stamford Plaza has fallen. I used to work for Stamford Plaza Melbourne and back then we held standards that were not seen here at Adelaide with this stay. Room Service - We had pizzas brought to the room, 1 of the pizzas was still raw (as in un melted cheese and soggy base) and cold on the center. I called and asked for a fresh pizza, I even asked if the fresh pizza could have no fresh tomato or herbs on it. When the new pizza arrived, it was, again, a pre-made pizza with fresh tomato and herbs on it that had simply been heated up. When I was in my second year chef apprenticeship, I remember being grilled by my sous chef that "we are a 5 star hotel, which means that if the customer wants something made, as long as we have the ingredients, it will get made". Clearly, this is not the case here. On the second night, we waited over an hour for a bowl of wedges, something I would have been screamed at back in Melbourne. Considering the prices for room service ($21.00 for a bowling of wedges), you would think the food would be excellent quality and the service would be on point. Additionally, on check out, we got to play the enjoyable game of "wait for the elevator". There we stood, at the entry to our elevators, for 38 minutes before finally getting one. There were 3 elevators, of which we only ever saw the middle elevators working. Overall, if Stamford Plaza Adelaide are calling them a 5 star hotel (I'm not sure if they are or aren't) they need to ensure they drop it down from 5 stars. For the prices they charge for quite basic rooms, they need to step up their game.

Great location. Right next to one of the busiest street and railway station. I was on lv19 and it was pretty quiet. Room was great. Parking $30 overnight. The restaurant closed a bit early than I expected.

Advertised as 5 stars, but I would say it’s more like a 3 or 4 star hotel. The good: - Convenient CBD location, with light rail and train at your doorstep - Rooms are big and equipped with decent desk space and storage - Shower has great water pressure - Bed sheets are really nice and luxurious - Rooms and generally quite clean, though the interiors are quite dated Room for improvement: - Room was serviced, but they took all the towels and didn’t replace them (had to ring reception, to their credit, they apologised and sent towels up promptly) - They don’t replace tea bags, nor take away used cups/spoons - One of the bathroom vanity packs was opened and used when I checked in - Long wait for the lifts every time I used them - Acoustics - it’s an older building, noise from the lift lobby travels into the rooms - Bathroom is tiny - Service isn’t bad, but it’s not friendly either. There was a bit of a wait to check in and to check out.
