As a frequent traveller lots of good here. Great location, nice logically laid out rooms (none of that fussy boutique stuff) and friendly staff. A couple of things to improve. 1 The fact the air con in the room only works when you are in there is crazy as sometimess here the temp can hit 43 C outside means coming back to an oven. A crazy policy for a 5 star hotel 2 The rooms are lovely but outside is a bit dated Small gripes but overall pretty good

I had a lovely experience at this hotel. The staff were incredibly nice service was prompt and quick. The rooms were also really nice and gave a very good and modern feel to the whole hotel. The views from my room were really spectacular especially at night. I spent a good portion of my time just watching people and looking at everyone's daily lives. It was quite therapeutic. The hotel also comes packed with a pool and a gym however I didn't use the pool as I was there during winter. Nevertheless it's still offered even more nice views in the city. The location was also really close to everything in the city and it was a really nice central hub. Definitely would come back again and worth its money.

Our New Year’s Eve Celebration at Stamford Plaza Adelaide Our party of six attended the Hollywood-style New Year’s Eve event at the Stamford Plaza Adelaide with high hopes for a glamorous evening. While there were some positives, overall, the experience left much to be desired. The Positives: * The food was well-prepared and enjoyable. * The band, once they finally started, was excellent and brought energy to the night. * The staff, while lacking experience, were polite and clearly tried their best. Well done!! The Disappointments: * Hollywood theme? It was nearly nonexistent. The decor and ambiance didn’t live up to the "Hollywood" promise. * The band didn’t start until 10:15 PM, leaving nearly three hours of waiting without entertainment, which significantly dampened the mood. Starting them earlier—say 7:30 PM—would have transformed the night. * White wine was served warm, with the drinks table service was sparse, well did not exist making it hard to enjoy drinks properly. * Dress code enforcement was disappointing. While many dressed to the nines in black tie, others showed up in casual attire like tank tops and shorts. This took away from the event's supposed elegance. * The head chef introduced each course with unnecessary commentary, which felt like an interruption rather than an enhancement. * Table water was undrinkable, which is an unexpected oversight for a premium event. * There was no festive New Year’s atmosphere—no streamers, whistles, or celebratory touches to make it feel like a true NYE party. * Staff inexperience showed during meal service. Plates from the previous course were often still on the table when the next course arrived, adding to a sense of disorganisation. In summary, while we appreciated the effort that went into the event, it was an expensive evening that fell short of expectations. Small changes—like starting the band earlier, enforcing the dress code, and adding traditional NYE touches—could have made a world of difference. Wishing you all the best for 2025!

To me the rooms really need to be updated. We had to ask for our our rooms to be refreshed with clean dry towels atc.. We didn't. Have the tea cups rinsed or replace and no teabags either. It was obviously an extremely hard time of year for the staff, having the hotel in full capacity. I recommend the Argentinian and Japanese restaurants as well as the buffet Breakfast. The children absolute you love the pool would have been nice if there was a spire so wanna other than that it was a nice day and all the stuff on face to face value were very warm and friendly

Was there for the Tour Down Under weekend. The room was awesome, big and clean. Only downside about the room was the view. Look outside and all you see is the wall from the building next door. Weirdest thing about the room was the bathroom. Turn the cold water on and it's hot. Thought I turned the wrong tap on but no. Had to let the cold water(hot) run for a few minutes before the cold water started to come out. Never had that before. Out of the three lifts, two broke down late Saturday afternoon. Trying to get a lift to ground floor was near impossible. Waited about 20 minutes before we decided to catch the lift going up before coming down. While other guests decided to walk up and down the fire stairway. Unfortunately Sunday the lifts were still not working. Would have thought the service company for the lifts would have been there straight away considering how busy the week/weekend would have been. Can't complain about the staff, they were friendly and helpful.
