Edwardian Room at Rydges Hobart

In the 1800's, The Lewis and Wellington rooms were previously the entry halls into the School for the Blind. Today, they have been repurposed for intimate events, ideal for training, interviews and internal meetings.

Rydges Hobart Venue offers many conference options in both our Edwardian and Federation room with a capacity of up to 120 guests. Both rooms are located on the first floor of the historic hotel. These rooms offer an abundance of natural light from 2 meter high windows that stretch up to the original tin pressed ceilings at 3.7 meters. The delicate furnishing add to the historical nature of the space and makes it the ideal choice for corporate events, dinners and weddings. With comprehensive audio visual options available through our dedicated supplier, the space offers flexible setup options and complimentary wireless internet throughout. Our conference facilities make Hobart functions all that easier so that you have the time to focus on what’s important.

Rydges is Hobart’s boutique meetings venue. The Braille library is a special part of the historic hotel. It once housed the education and training of student learning and understanding braille. The stand-alone building has 2 rooms (Braille room 1 and 2). The Braille room 1, has built in projector and screen and can seat up to 50 theatre style and 30 boardroom. Braille room 2 is a long room and down one end is a large 70 inch wall mounted TV. The room is made for a long table in a board room set up. The rooms can accommodate up to 30. Our meetings venue facilities make Hobart functions all that easier, so that you have the time to focus on what’s important.
