I booked a manor room. It was huge!! Lots of space and very comfortable. Loved the big bath! Would have been great if the bed was bigger. Such a big room I saw no need for such a small bed. I think it was a double. Fun being a four post bed but not big enough. Reception was great very friendly and helpful and the food in the dining room was lovely. Nice hotel. Standard buffet breakfast. Extra star for the bath and room size

A very interesting stay at The Rydges hotel… we’ve stayed here before and had a great experience. This time around, not so much. We actually stayed in the same room as we did when we last visited in 2022. It was okay, until we had to pack our bags and leave at 2am due to the shower leaking and a terrible odour of what could be described as urine and off meat.. as much as we tried to to flush the smell out, it did not go away…. It’s important to note the smell was not coming from the drain 🥲 we also experienced a few things that were interesting to say the least.. from seeing a child at the foot of our bed, to sounds of children playing outside of our door at 2am (it was 4 degrees and no kids were around) to bed covers ripped off us at 4am, lights coming on and off, banging on the walls and screams in the middle of the night. This hotel is heavily haunted, and what we found out upon leaving at 2am from a quick google search is it used to be a school for the “Dumb, Deaf and Blind” A lot of kids suffered abuse and neglect here. Personally, I have been into many haunted places in my life as I am sensitive to energies and this place is extremely unsettling. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. When we came to pick up a few things missed during our 2am flee and hand the keys back, we spoke to reception (who was lovely) and she partially refunded us and confirmed that the site is in fact haunted and plenty of people have had experiences, with cases of people leaving in the middle of the night too. I took the first photo at 2am while leaving, tell me what you see.

My partner and I stayed with Rydges for 3 nights and had a relatively good experience. The staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable and the room the spacious. The shower did have a lot of leakage, despite not having long showers. Each night we had a decent puddle of water we had to scoop back into the shower so it didn’t travel into the bedroom and wet the carpet. Despite that, it was a nice stay :)

We stayed at Rydges for 4 nights and it was a great experience for me and my partner. Getting the rooms were super easy and if you have a car, parking is free which alot of hotels don’t do anymore. Bea took care of us the whole trip, helping us getting what we need and even informing us of the initiatives the hotel has. If you don’t mind not having house keeping for a couple of days, you get a voucher for the food, which is also really good by the way! While the location isn’t walkable to places such as Salamanca, there are lots of other places nearby for a good night life. Definitely will come back here.

Excellent price for the location. Very close to the CBD and most attractions. I would give 5 stars but the beds were very soft and uncomfortable and the breakfast buffet was not great. No variety in the breakfast for the price and not very tasty. Overall a great little hotel
