We stayed a single night, in an ordinary room, given the price. The carpet was thinning and threadbare in several places, and the inner toilet bowl rim was smashed, the bath was cracked and the sink was chipped and cracked. To begin with the room looked tidy, if a bit worn out. We were a bit surprised at the price of parking. When we returned from exploring, we started noticing more damage around the room and grimy things started becoming more obvious. A LOT of marks/splashes/drips all over the walls and curtains and several areas of chipped plaster and veneer. The wall colour has not been applied under pictures/paintings. The worst dirty patch was a giant section above the bed, right in line with where your head would lie, of toothpaste smears. Extremely obvious, given it's on a dark brown wall. Obviously toothpaste given the strong minty smell when I wiped it away so my children could sleep there. Utterly revolting given it's a product that's likely been in someone's mouth. The bathroom mirrors and glass were only cleaned as high as housekeeping could reach- very obvious in the steam. Lots of dust and grime on the skirting tiles, door frames, around the switches, the toilet seat. The whole room needed a really thorough deep clean. When I called reception about the toothpaste I received only a mild apology. The next morning I mentioned it and was asked for a photo to prove it, then offered an apology and was given a free coffee for myself and my partner.

Not very happy. First of all didn't know about the price of the parking till we got there. $35 a night.. then the air conditioner didn't work properly on and off all night. The hot water was not going? Luke warm shower. Then went to have a coffee in the morning and breakfast. Coffee was great .. but got our breakfast order wrong and those horrible chairs are so uncomfortable like wire. Then noticed heaps of dust in front of the coffee machine and the shelf as seen in the picture.. Look the location is fantastic.. they were very nice people at the reception. But when we did say something nothing was done. A bit disappointed ☹️

I’m giving 5 stars because with the bad reviews I wasn’t expecting much. Standouts was the soundproofing on street rooms. Really good We had great coffee in the cafe downstairs with delightful service. The food I saw going out looked fine but probably not the most innovative cuisine you’ll find in St Kilda. Location amazing. Yes the parking is tight and expensive but better than not having parking like some hotels. All up was a pleasant surprise. I like the hall lights go out when no one around and come on with activity. More hotels should be this pro active with power waste that is very high in hotels generally Well done 👍

My Son and I stayed here in mid March.. It was when there was a 3 day heatwave and I couldn't do what I had planned..Thank goodness for the clean room and air-conditioner..I spent more time than I wanted to In our room and in the downstairs sitting room..Had some meals and good coffee..My son enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere and got on with the locals.. Unfortunately there was an incident that lasted 2 whole days with police , detectives, photographers and all .A whole floor of guests had to be relocated and people everywhere .It was unsettling and we where told nothing at all..Spoilt our stay further as I was there all the time..An explanation would have been in order..Otherwise 7/10

Lovely place to spend quality time at, staffs are very helpful and rooms are well maintained. It's located at lovely beach location with trams connecting to city stopping next to the hotel. Highly recommended.
