Built in 1854, Melbourne’s second oldest pub and the first stone building in Collingwood, the Grace Darling has been a indispensable community institution for over a century and a half. They strive for the promotion of creativity, experimentation and progression in live music and the arts. Providing a safe and accessible space for culture to develop and flourish. The venue now consists of a restaurant, public bar, and two band rooms available for private functions. The public bar and sidewalk beer garden continues to house a diversity of mingling locals, artists and professionals, offering comfort and privacy for both intimate encounters and group gatherings, while the band room has transformed into a mainstay on the local live music circuit producing a roster of emerging acts.

Our upstairs Band Room is bathed in natural light and features its own bar, private bathrooms, lounge area, focal stage and professional PA system, which is ideal for live entertainment. 
THE CELLAR BAR
This candle lit and completely private space provides a shadowy and intimate atmosphere suited to any event, whether a sit down dinner with full table service, or standing cocktail
THE ATRIUM
This leafy glass roofed space can be booked for groups.It is a semi private area sectioned off from the rest of the venue and the main bar and bathrooms are easily accessible. 

You’re welcome to bring your own band/DJ and they can use our available equipment at no extra cost. Alternatively, if you wanted to keep it simple, it is as easy as plugging your iPod in on the night.

The Band Bar

The candlelit cellar provides a shadowy and rustic atmosphere suited to any event whether it is an intimate sit down meal, or standing cocktails and canapés. The cellar’s independent bar and sound system allows this     totally private dining area to be transformed into your own exclusive wonderland for up to 50 seated guests or 80 standing. Offering a range of beverage packages and canapé platters, and with full music capabilities, each    event can be individually tailored to ensure your celebration or corporate function is memorable and exceptionally executed.

The Cellar

 It's a lovely space to hang out (whatever the weather's doing outside). Adorned by greenery and flowers, and with loads of natural light, the Atrium is great for dinner events, or smaller scale cocktail parties. It's a sophisticated space, removed from the buzzing public bar.
