Worked there 50 years ago. Was great to return and remember the fun times had there. The original parketry floor is still in reception that I used to polished every day. A great location to city and Fitzroy St too !! đź‘Ś

Highly not recommended there!!!This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I’ve never had anything like this happen to me before. I stayed for two nights, but on the second day, everything I left in my room was gone. None of it was even valuable, so I don’t think it was a thief. I asked housekeeping, but she just shook her head. Then I went to the manager, and he told me to send an email and said I’d get a response in a few days. Well, it’s been over ten days, and I’ve heard nothing. I’m never staying here again.

Saw some of the bad reviews here and was a little worried but I had a good stay, no complaints. Note that there is both a service apartment and a hotel in two separate buildings, and I get the feeling a lot of the bad reviews are from the apartment side. The hotel was totally fine for the most part. Obviously YMMV + Clean rooms, house keeping was on top of it every day + Friendly reception + Shower was piping hot and had good pressure + I was worried about the deposit situation after reading reviews, but the card transaction for my deposit was cancelled after I checked out exactly as the staff said. + Right in front of tram stop to city - The dryers were broken in the laundry. I didnt need it but it might annoy you if you do. - The walls were a bit thin and you could hear noise from the next room one of the nights - Rooms do show their age a bit Overall I have no complaints. If they were listed as a 3 star hotel/motel, I would have given them a 5 star review; good location, tidy, good price, has most things you need. But... If you are listed as a 4 star hotel, that is the standard you will be judged against, and in that respect they do fall short, hence the 4 star rating.

The stay at this apartment was not up to standard. Customer service at front desk seemed like they couldn’t be bothered and lacked experience. Toilet squealed so loud right throughout the unit every 10 minutes (requested it be looked at and sorted our second day - staff said they wouldn’t get anyone in over a weekend so would get someone in on Monday… yet they never did anything about it during our 6 night stay). Shower had black mould everywhere, bath tub didn’t have a plug, previous guests underwear/bras were left in a side drawer, the rooms looked nothing like the pictures provided on their website, broken blinds, dusty window borders… so much to list that was wrong with the place, it’s ridiculous. I definitely would NOT recommend staying at this place.

Extremely Disappointing Experience Despite being owed a $300 deposit refund, it has not been returned after over a week. When I contacted the hotel just now to inquire about the matter, I was met with an astonishing lack of professionalism. The receptionist refused to check whether the refund had been initiated and adamantly claimed the hotel "never makes mistakes." When I requested to speak with a manager, he refused, declined to provide his name, and abruptly ended the call. Such dismissive and unprofessional behavior is entirely unacceptable, particularly in an establishment that claims to provide high-quality service. Additionally, the booking process is unnecessarily inconvenient. Guests are required to drive to a separate location—approximately five minutes away—to collect the keys. This lack of consideration for guest convenience further reflects poorly on the hotel's operations. I strongly advise potential guests to reconsider before booking with this hotel. My experience has left me with no confidence in their ability to provide the level of service one would expect from a reputable establishment.
