We recently stayed in a charming room that, while compact, offered everything we needed at an unbeatable price. The sleeping arrangements were ideal, featuring a comfortable double bed and a versatile sofa bed—perfect for our family. The bedroom included adjustable shutters, allowing us to customize the space to our liking. An unexpected incident occurred when our son, who is on the autism spectrum, accidentally locked the bathroom door from the outside. However, the staff responded with grace and efficiency. They were exceptionally polite and attentive, promptly restocking our essentials like towels, sugar, and coffee upon request. Moreover, they swiftly addressed the locked door situation, ensuring minimal disruption to our stay. Overall, the hospitality and responsiveness of the staff greatly enhanced our experience, making it a place we’d happily recommend to others looking for quality accommodation on a budget. Thank you to the staff for making our first family trip to Melbourne a great experience.

My stay at the Arrow on Swanston Hotel in Carlton, Melbourne was extremely disappointing and did not meet even the most basic expectations of a decent hotel stay. **Room Not as Advertised** The room was vastly different from what was shown online. The images suggested a modern, clean, and comfortable space, but what I encountered was far from it. **Rude Reception Staff** The reception staff were incredibly rude and uncooperative. When I politely requested a room change due to the numerous issues, they flatly refused without any valid reason. **Inconvenient Reception Location** The reception is located in a completely different building. Anytime you need assistance or have a request, you must leave your building, walk down the street, and enter another building. This setup is highly inconvenient and frustrating, especially when you’re already dealing with multiple room issues. **Room Issues** 1. **Shower Height**: The showerhead was so low I had to kneel to take a shower. This is unacceptable and uncomfortable. 2. **Dangerous Cabinet**: There is a cabinet above the toilet that can hit your head if you're not cautious. This is a safety hazard. 3. **Old Beds**: The beds were old and uncomfortable. The springs in the mattress made creaking noises with every move, reminiscent of a bed that's been overused for decades. 4. **Filthy Room**: The room was filthy, with visible dirt and grime. It was clear that proper cleaning is not a priority. 5. **Poor Heating**: The heating system barely worked and was extremely noisy, making it difficult to sleep. The noise level was comparable to that of a passing train. **Overall Experience** The combination of false advertising, poor service, dangerous and uncomfortable room conditions, and inconvenient reception setup made for a terrible experience. I strongly advise against staying at Arrow on Swanston Hotel. There are many other options in Melbourne that offer better service, cleaner rooms, and more convenience. **Pros:** - Convenient location in Carlton **Cons:** - Rooms not as advertised - Rude and unhelpful reception staff - Inconvenient reception location - Low showerhead - Dangerous cabinet above the toilet - Old, uncomfortable beds - Filthy room - Ineffective and noisy heating system Avoid this hotel if you value comfort, cleanliness, and good service.

Me and my family decided to stay at Arrow on Swanston, due to its convenient location. Staff were ok and the reception looked nice. When we first checked in we were downgraded without any discounts or special offers. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment , that had many windows and looked modern, but instead got a 1 bedroom with few windows that looked old.The toilet was first off all broken ,tv wasn't working as well as the heater. The whole stay wasn't horrible it just disappointed us that we were downgraded without any discounts or special offer as well as the faulty appliances .
