Reviews for Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank

Nice location! A bit far from the main city but not too bad. Close to mcg/rod laver arena. Room was very nice. Not the best view but that’s because we got a lower floor. Beautiful modern reception area. Glasses at the buffet had lots of marks and finger prints on them and bottom of plates were dirty. Great service and pretty quiet. Great blackout curtains/blinds

Special thanks to Summer, Nate, Nat, Ned... They are one hell of a Manager. Completely understood our bizarre set of circumstances that led our family to be split between two hotels (nothing to do with Holiday Inn) and made sure nothing was made more difficult for us in Melbourne. Helped us out with extreme care, changed booking details and understood my sleeping issues, so made sure everything was taken care of. That is not what I expected from a Holiday Inn hotel. Thank you, Summer. Excellent choice for us and close to the Trade Fair. Breakfast was great, waiter even brought me the empty bag from the toast and had a good old chat about what makes fruit toast good. Was like being with a mate. Rooms are small but very clean, comfortable and functional. Good block out blinds and double glazed windows. Easy to walk everywhere. Awesome breakfast, charging stations. You can get clean water on the reception level as well as grab a toothbrush if you forgot (I did), plus order food and drinks and take it back to your room. Understand what you are getting here is the room without the bits you don't need. But if you do need them, you can get it. Very interesting business model. I think it is great and will definitely stay here again. The Ten Hot Pot down the road was fantastic and great for kids.

Some of the rudest customer service I have experienced. I was there for my hens with a friend. I left my makeup bag in the reception area and when we asked if anyone had seen anything, the reply we got was “if it was here, it’d be here”. When we came back down to speak with reception because our key wasn’t working, the lady at the counter looked at us waiting and then turned and walked away. So once we were eventually addressed, we explained our key wasn’t allowing us into our room. They did fix the problem but all that was said was “done”. A simple “sorry about that, let me fix it” would have been lovely. It wasn’t a friendly experience and we didn’t feel like we could speak to anyone.

Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank is an excellent choice for anyone looking to stay in Melbourne. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The location is absolutely ideal, offering convenient access to the city's major attractions and public transport, making it easy to explore. The hotel delivers outstanding value for money, with comfortable beds and pillows. The rooms are neat and well-maintained and have a nice big shower. The breakfast buffet, although simple, is enjoyable and provides a good start to the day. There are plenty of dining options within walking distance, including a variety of restaurants close to the riverfront. It is highly recommended for both short visits and longer stays, and is suitable for business travelers and families alike. The hotel also offers great amenities, such as free Wi-Fi and a fitness center.
