Location: Quiet location away from the city but just minutes away from the river. Stroll along the river promenade and you will discover a variety of quaint river-front restaurants all the way to the Crown complex. Rooms: Comfortable and cosy with basic amenities. Call down to reception for complimentary toiletries if you've forgotten to pack your own. No bottled water in the room, but there is a 7-11 five minutes walk away. Breakfast: Complimentary breakfast provided with a regular spread of hot and cold breakfast items, breakfast juices and hot beverages. Food was replenished regularly. Service: CONSISTENT good guest service provided throughout our stay from check-in to check-out. Even if they could not fulfill a request, staff were genuine apologetic. From reception to breakfast all staff encountered were friendly, polite and warm. We appreciated after a long flight the staff welcomed us with a welcome drink and thanked us for our IHG membership. Felt like we've come home ;) Definitely our favourite Holiday Inn Express property in Melbourne and we'll be back!

Overall, the only good thing about this hotel is the location. Most of the staff is rude so better not ask any questions. Breakfast: very basic. Nice scrambled eggs and baked beans. Restaurant is below average. Uncooked chips. Do not waste money. Happy hours drinks are fine. Housekeeping: Horrendous. The housekeeping is horrible. They will not make your bed and cover dirty sheets with the blanket too so that we can only complaint at the night. Housekeeping clearly tried to pretend-clean the beds everyday. They also left the mop in the room standing tall against the wall which we had to move ourselves to the lobby area. We slept on old uncleaned sheets for two nights. Even after making complaint, there was not attempt to make up the room. I even asked the name of the cleaner so that I can formally discuss - reception didn't know any details. She mentioned that they cannot know who cleaned the room as there are too many agencies employed by the hotel. Most clueless reception ever. Inshort, AVOID this hotel - not worth the money paid.

I would like to give 5 stars ⭐️ of one of staff named Summer who showed very polite and kindness attitude to arrange a silent and cleanly room for us to stay there for three nights. She always smiling 🙂 and understanding what us as customers need. It is really luckily we meet her while we found out our first room a bit dirty. Pamela from mildura

5 stars across the board here. I honestly can't find much at all to nitpick about this hotel. Absolutely great value. Aircon works very well. Quiet. Modern hotel. Amazing location. Room layout thought out very well with its slightly limited space. I honestly don't know if I've been in a better hotel ever in my life. Will absolutely look to come back if I'm in the Melbourne region again.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights, close to the casino and southgate. The main reception were understaffed for the times we were there, so there was a long wait whether u wanted a drink, culpa or a question answered. The buffet breakfast was basic with bacon , eggs, hash browns, small sausages, baked beans with all your other basic breakfast options. We decided to eat in the restaurant on site, I ordered a meat lovers pizza and my husband a bowl of chips , both meals were 1/2 cooked as in pizza base was no cooked, topping was but it was bare minimum toppings and my husband chips where like dripped in and out quickly in the fryer, very disappointing and really a waste of money. I went to complain at main reception but no one was around. Room was small, standard queen room . Bed was comfortable.
