Excellent location to Southbank in Melbourne. Clean and neat room with modern furnishings. The bathroom was well appointed with towels and nice smelling hand wash, moisturiser, shampoo and conditioner. We really enjoyed the stay, the bed was really comfortable, choice of firm or soft pillows was a great touch. The block out curtains were the best we've ever experienced! Then the buffet breakfast which was included was really yummy with eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, tomato, toast, sweet muffins, pastries. Barrista coffee was available at an extra cost, otherwise regular tea/coffee/ juice included.
We stayed here for 5 days. The hotel is in an absolutely great location. Very good value for money, not one of those fancy five star hotels, but it has been okay.l for what you pay. The buffet breakfast is ok! sufficient for what you need, but they need to add some cheese options and salads. The hygiene of the room was generally good, but there were heaps of dust on the desks and under the beds if you move it by a tiny bit for whatever needs you may have. The parking costs extra but it has been very good and reliable with heaps of parkings available during the week.
Great Hotel.. fast lifts with 5 of them (sufficient for number of rooms) the only disappointment was the website said the restaurant (the great room) was 24/7 but when we wanted to get room service at 11:00pm. We were told the kitchen closes at nine and we could only get a ham and cheese toastie at this point. So we were very disappointed with that. False advertising. Otherwise great hotel, very good free breakfast. All in all a good stay and experience. Would stay again.
Wonderful location and budget friendly. Our booking included full buffet breakfast & parking. Facilities are really good. Love the bathroom. Id book a king next time. Queen was a little small and quite firm. But overall very happy we stayed here. Breakfast was impressive and yum. And coffee on tap, what more could you want 🤔 There is an option for specialty coffees if preferred. Would definitely recommend.
I am extremely disappointed with the services at Holiday Inn Express. First of all, I was surprised to find that there was no drinking water provided in the room, not even tap water. The level of cleanliness was very poor. The mattresses did not have proper covers, and when we requested room cleaning, the staff reused the same dirty and wrinkled bedsheets instead of replacing them. The carpet was filthy, covered with hair and dirt. The bathroom had a water leak that soaked the carpet, causing a strong damp and moldy smell. In addition, the room door was very difficult to close and required excessive force, which was extremely frustrating. The bathroom was also missing basic amenities such as toothbrushes and disposable slippers, which are normally expected at this price point. I booked this hotel based on the brand name, expecting a much higher standard of service and maintenance. The breakfast was very poor and not suitable for vegetarians at all. The main options were pork, beans, and scrambled eggs that were clearly prepared in advance and kept covered. Fruit options were extremely limited: oranges on the first day, watermelon on the second day, along with yogurt, cornflakes (wheat and rice), a very small croissant, orange and strawberry jam. The hash browns were cold on the first day and soaked in oil, causing stomach discomfort. Additionally, the glasses and plates were dirty, and it was difficult to find clean dishes. For two nights, a standard room cost $400, which is completely unacceptable given the quality of service, hygiene, and maintenance. I am giving one star only because the location is excellent and close to essential services, and the shampoo provided in the room was good and vegan-friendly. Other than that, this stay was far below the expected standards of the Holiday Inn brand.
