⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend Mercure Newcastle. My husband and I stayed for a much-needed weekend getaway our first since having our son and it was such a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond. We were welcomed with a platter of sweets, a complimentary bottle of bubbles, chocolates, water, and a beautiful card with a heartfelt message from the staff. It truly made us feel special and well looked after. All staff were friendly, approachable, and consistently welcoming throughout our stay. The location is fantastic, with restaurants, nightlife, and the waterfront all within easy walking distance. We also highly recommend the Drive & Stay package, which included parking and prepaid breakfast each morning so convenient. We enjoyed the pool as well, which was perfect on a hot day. Thank you to the wonderful team at Mercure Newcastle for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely be returning. 😊💕
We stayed with our young grandson in a family room for just the one night. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was well appointed, including 3 TVs! Clean and comfortable with plenty of space. Comfortable beds. Well appointed kitchen. Our grandson enjoyed the pool and the snacks and refreshments that were provided as part of my Gold membership. The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from the Honeysuckle light rail stop. Will definitely stay again.
Everything was standard, good, but I was disappointed by no room service menu options when I was there. The physical menu in-room didn't match what was available on the app - nothing much was available at all, so I never ordered. Would have loved a Kevin McAllister style experience of having hotel room service -- especially in a foreign country, Australia no less. Otherwise all good. Friendly staff, non-evasive. TV channels good, music. Enjoyed the cracking storm from the large windows before leaving on the morning of check-out.
Stayed last night and enjoyed the Valentines Dinner. The food never disappoints, with so much flavour and quantity! The service and staff are fantastic. A special call out to Omkar who was our friendly, happy and helpful waiter. We will definitely be back again. 😃
Different from my previous stays at this property, my most recent visit was not satisfactory at all. To begin with, before going to the beach we asked the front office until what time dinner orders were accepted, and we were told 9:30 pm. At 9:05 pm we went to the restaurant and ordered some entrées. At 9:15 pm, we decided to add fries to our order, but the waiter informed us that the chef had already closed the kitchen. This was quite frustrating, given the information we had received earlier. Additionally, the pork belly served that evening was extremely salty. Beyond the dining experience, my friend did not have towels in his room and had to dry himself using his own clothes. One of the elevators was also out of service, which resulted in long waiting times to go up and down. Lastly, the rooms should offer a wider selection of teas, including decaffeinated options such as chamomile or mint/peppermint. Currently, only English breakfast, Earl Grey, and green tea are provided. Overall, this stay did not meet the standards of my previous experiences at this hotel.
