Staff are great. Location is good for restaurants. However, hotel is so aggressively outdated. Visible deep stains, rust, poor cleaning. Dust everywhere, and bathroom was not in good clean condition either. We did not receive any housekeeping during our expensive 3 night stay. The additional cost for parking was also crap. Could not turn the aircon down less than 23 degrees, which was inconvenient as we stayed during a heat wave. We called twice about this and were told it would be adjusted from reception, which it did not. Otherwise, it was extremely loud. TV is ancient. No chromecast, no smart options, no screen share, can't even rent a movie lol. There are no lights in the room except 3 lamps... absolutely NO amenities like toothbrushes/toothpaste, bottled water, mini fridge was completely empty, and food trays sat outside our room for almost 24 hours. You could hear the next room's TV, and honestly it wouldn't have been up loud. Every screech and scream of a child, every sneeze, cough or conversation someone had on the level, and every door opened or closed - we were hearing it. I've stayed at other Novotel hotels before, and this one was just not it. Never again.
We booked the rooms for 4. I was meant to pay at hotel for AUD 458 but when I got there, they added AUD 8 on top without telling me, just charged my card AUD 466 for 1 night. Although we have 3-4 lamps to give us lights, still dark. They do not have a bright colour light, all light close to yellow colour. There's no drinks in the fridge, not even a water bottle. I have to boil the water from the toilet sink water and drink it after cooling down. Nothing exciting about the room. Also I went downstairs or reception this to have coffee in the morning and charge my phone at the same time, could not locate any of the charging outlet. The breakfast buffet is extra $35 each person if you want to add but kids under 15 was free. Location is close to food , many to select. To Westfield is 14 min walk. If you stay in hotel, you can pay to park your car for $40 overnight, or $50 if your not the client. Overall stay is 6/10. Bed is comfortable.
Our first stay at a Novetel. We paid for a King Suite on 6th floor. The room was small but nice and the bed was super comfy. But there were small details around the motel that need tending too, to warrant the price tag. There were patched areas/rust marks in our bathroom. The height of the bath/shower put us very close to the ceiling too. Stains on the hallway carpet and marks on the walls. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. So many options and staff were very friendly and helpful. I was not impressed with having to pay an extra $120 just to have a car space in a motel I was already paying $1380 to stay in. Not cool at all.
Decided to stay here for the evening, as we had a Christmas party at the hotel that night. We arrived a little early (on a very hot weekend), hoping to take advantage of the pool before getting ready for the party. Nothing was mentioned to us before or at check-in, but we discovered the pool was closed for painting (no idea how you could paint in 40 degree weather?). So we decided to have lunch at the bar. There was only one staff member, but she was lovely, and it wasn't busy, so all good. The food was great. We then just relaxed in our very old, outdated room. I don't think I was given an upgraded room (Accor Platinum Member), instead we were given the room closest to the lift. Which meant we had kids running and yelling outside our room at times. I asked the reception regarding the pool for the next day, and they said it should be open, so gave us a late check-out. This wasn't the case! Again, it was closed for painting, so our little staycation ended early, as there was nothing to do after having breakfast. I wish we were advised of the pool situation prior to check-in as we may have chosen to stay elsewhere in Parramatta that had a working pool. We did however, get free parking.
I had a really wonderful stay here recently for a seminar I had to attend. It’s in a very convenient location. All the staff there were lovely, although the restaurant could be better managed as it had very inexperienced staff there who forgot to put the butter out for breakfast and keep the hot water up to a decent level for so many people who were there! A few little hiccups but otherwise a very lovely place to stay, close to beautiful restaurants and even if you want to go to Coles it’s only a short walk away! The tram goes by the front door as well so you can go anywhere you want to, except it is a little noisy first thing in the morning at around 5 o’clock when the street sweeper and garbage truck come out and the trams start up etc. But highly recommend. It’s great place to stay.
