Decent well priced hotel in a good part of town. Clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Service from all staff was very good. The gym had good equipment and the pool on the rooftop was a great space with good views out over the city.
I recently stayed at your hotel for two nights(804) with my family, and while I was genuinely impressed by the kindness of most staff members, I feel obligated to share some disappointing experiences that significantly affected our stay. First of all, I want to thank a few exceptional team members: A friendly female staff member at check-in on Friday evening A kind male staff member who helped me dispose of rubbish directly, which I deeply appreciated A manager I briefly spoke to on Sunday morning who welcomed us with a warm smile These individuals gave me a positive impression of the hotel and Sydney overall. However, my overall experience was overshadowed by one staff member I encountered on Sunday morning, who demonstrated poor customer service and unprofessional behavior. I would like to outline the issues clearly. Incorrect Breakfast Charge and Deceptive Explanation I booked a Family Room with breakfast included for 4 guests (my mother, my sister, myself, and my 6-year-old daughter) via Booking.com. I requested 4 single beds, and that request was confirmed. During check-in, all four guests were physically present and all names were recorded. Despite this, on Sunday morning, when we went to have breakfast, the restaurant staff told us the booking was only for 3 guests. When I tried to clarify this at reception, your staff member insisted that the original booking was for “2 adults and 1 child” and that names written at check-in didn’t matter. Even though I knew this was false, I did not wish to escalate the situation further, especially with my family there. I paid the additional $29 for breakfast, but the dishonesty and attitude were unacceptable. For your reference, I later checked Booking.com again and found that the price for the Family Room with breakfast is exactly the same for 3 or 4 guests. (I have screen shots) The issue was not the $29. The issue was the lack of honesty and the staff's demeaning tone. Inappropriate Question About Deposit This same staff member also asked me after I paid $29 for the breakfast fee, quite condescendingly, “Did you pay the $100 deposit?” This felt unnecessary and offensive. I replied, “Why are you asking me that?” but received no response. Most guests understand that deposits are usually required. The way the question was asked made me feel as if I was being treated with suspicion. Refusal of Luggage Storage Around 10am right after the breakfast, my sister asked if we could store our luggage for a few hours. This same staff member flatly said “No,” which surprised us.My sister asked to speak with the manager, and only then was it resolved. We checked your official hotel website already, which clearly states that luggage storage is available. We even went to the storage room and saw many other guests’ bags already stored. Why were we given incorrect information and treated differently? Room Cleanliness and Violation of Privacy When we first entered the room around 8:30 PM on check-in night, the carpet had visible dust and debris. It wasn’t major, but still noticeable. On Saturday, before going out, we hung the “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door. When we returned, we found the room had been cleaned, despite our clear request not to. This made us feel our privacy had been violated. Final Thoughts These experiences were deeply disappointing and inconsistent with what I expect from a 4-star hotel. I chose not to write a public review about this, because I believe in giving organizations the chance to improve. I hope that: You can investigate these incidents, especially the staff member in question. (did you pay a $100 deposit?) All staff can be better trained on guest communication and accurate information. Thank you for your time. I hope you take this feedback seriously and take steps to improve the guest experience for others.
The room was alright. So far it's actually been one of the better on our trip, so there's that. It was clean enough and had decent amenities. I really liked the rooftop lounge and pool area. Great views, up there!! Super loud trucks come and service, in the early am and that will wake you, if your room faces the alley way.
Like other reviews have pointed out, key issues to note at Vibe include: hot water pressure is so low it's ridiculous; the fragrance in the foyer is overpowering; noise from the street is quite intrusive (the rooms have dual windows, but not true double-glazing); the pool is *not* heated and; despite signage in the building, there is no sauna. All that said, the rooms a generously sized, beds are quite comfortable and the hotel is clean. I would recommend asking for a room without a connecting door (unless you need two adjoining rooms!) as the noise - including conversations - travels far too easily through them - I could actually see light under mine. There's plenty of power points, lighting was varied, the fridge was actually cold (many hotels' fridges are more aptly termed 'coolers') and the aircon was effective and quiet. Overall, a decent multi-night stay, even with the street noise, which is somewhat in keeping with the location and price point. But please, do something about the hot water pressure, seal or soundproof the interconnecting doors, heat the pool, take down the sauna signs and dial back the foyer fragrance and you'd be in a very commendable space.
When I checked in there was dirt in the bathtub and toilet paper in the trash bin. I told the front desk and the manager asked if I could wait 20 minutes for them to clean it. After traveling 24+ hours I told them no. They did give me a new room and a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. The hotel lobby is very nice but the rooms need a little TLC. The bed was comfy and the location is excellent. I would stay again for the right price due to location but this place definitely is not 4 stars.
