Stayed at the Mercure hotel just before Christmas a year ago, and it was a great experience. It was my first time in Sydney and as a teenager, the place provided comfortable rooms and reliable service. There was a good vibe to the place and the location was super helpful, nearby access to the mono-rail as well as shops. The staff was nice and welcoming and the food was good. Almost all I could ask for as holiday accommodation, very nice overall. 4.5 / 5 stars.
Stayed here for a small break, the staff are very pleasant and overall the hotel is well laid out. Hotel is fairly close to Central Station (5minute walk) We were able to check in earlier and get upgraded, which was extremely handy! Room was a decent size, and one a cool notable feature was the LED lights above the mirror.
Location and service were fantastic, the room is very utilitarian and excellent for a quick trip. The elevator system, on the other hand, is extremely frustrating. There is only one elevator working for the entire week (have been here five days!!) this sometimes leads to 20 minute waits for the elevator, very annoying when you're trying to get out and explore. This is the major reason I would not stay at this hotel again.
The hotel room is nice, and the service is good, with efficient staff. The hotel is very close to Sydney Central Station, Chinatown, and Market City. Additionally, there are many restaurants nearby, offering a variety of dining options, and the transportation is very convenient. The only downside is that if people are talking loudly outside the room, you'll notice the soundproofing isn't very good.
Great location easy walking distance to Chinatown, lots of eateries, amenities and conveniently located close public transport. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was ready by midday when we checked in so we were granted an early check in and did not have to wait till 3pm. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit Sydney.
