We celebrated our anniversary here, and had an absolute blast. We had the premium set menu and loved every dish. We loved that they added sparklers to our dessert to celebrate our anniversary a very nice touch. My favourite dish was definitely the kingfish.
Had the unlimited yum cha at Moonhouse which featured dishes like XO scallop, roast duck pancake, prawn dumplings, chicken prawn wontons, vege spring rolls, calamari, kale fried rice & crispy eggplant. The scallop and roast duck pancake stood out as the best, offering more flavour, but the rest of the dishes were pretty average and quite bland. The ‘unlimited’ concept was a bit unconventional - rather than a traditional buffet or yum cha carts, you had to reorder each dish individually. After placing 5+ rounds of orders, I began to feel awkward despite still feeling hungry. The service also left something to be desired, with significant wait times between courses.
We shared a lovely dinner here. The duck spring rolls were truly filled with delicious duck ! Duck pancakes were very small piece of duck /pancake overpriced, the Wagu beef pot stickers ok, Prawn fried rice yummy with generous helpings of prawn and the Hokkien beef and black bean noodles & Lemon chicken delicious. The Chinese broccoli could have been cut rather than huge 15cm pieces. Overall, tasty, but very small serves and a bit overpriced.
From the outside it looked and felt like your local pub. The interior definitely looks slicker and the attentive friendly service supports that feeling. The food is what I would say modern Asian. Few of the dishes have traditional names and feel about it but there's always a twist either on the ingredients or the way they cook it. Most of the dishes tasted clean and light. We would recommend the asparagus, duck pancake and the crudo. Apparently they also have bottomless yumcha on the weekend which we would definitely check out next time. Food - 8 Service - 9 Vibe - 8 Price - $$$
Couldn’t fault my experience. The highlight was the friendliness of the staff and the atmosphere. It was a beautiful venue and I appreciated such lovely service. I’ll definitely be back!
