Spacious and clean room. Friendly and professional staff. What I like best is the everyday cleaning of rooms and laundry amenities. It's surrounded by restaurants and it's close to the train line.
Stayed at the penthouse in Adina Hotel, and it was an absolute nightmare. After signing a no-party waiver at check-in, we expected a peaceful stay. Instead, we were met with paper-thin walls and music blasting from next door, so loud we could hear the lyrics. At first, we tried to ignore it, but the shouting and singing only got worse. We called reception, and after 30 minutes, they finally responded. Although the music was briefly lowered, it was blasting again soon after. We went out to escape the chaos, and when we returned at 4 AM, a group of people were still singing and shouting on the balcony. Despite multiple calls, there was no follow-up. At checkout, Roger from reception blamed us, saying we should have brought the issue to them in person. He was passive-aggressive, making us feel embarrassed in front of other guests. This was by far the worst hotel experience—I’ve had better nights at cheap motels. I’ll never stay at an Adina Hotel again. And before replying with 'I don’t see your name in the system' as your standard response, my partner was the one who checked in.
Positive feedback: Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Adina Queen Street after the first night having no hotwater till late in our 3 night stay. The room was clean, though a bit worn-out, located conveniently in CBD with Southern Cross station 10 min walk and parking in the same building - Wilson's parking ($25 per night), Staff were mostly helpful when approached. Negative feedback: Better communication needed - On our first night, there was no hot water until 10.30 pm. We only found out the hard way after trying to have a shower following a long day of travelling to Melb from Syd. We were to have an early night on arrival for an early start at 5 am the following morning. There were no notifications from Adina about the issue, or any alternative arrangements. We were also not compensated for the inconvenience. Carpark - Driving in the carpark and to/from is tricky. The lanes are narrow so 2 vehicles cannot pass easily, specially at the entrance and at corners. It can be quite messy when a few vehicles are trying to go opposite ways. It can get blocked, and people have to find any "empty" space for another to pass, which happened couple of times during our stay. We were surprised that there were no corner mirrors. Which would be helpful to see oncoming traffic to pre-prepare. Parking exit tickets - Need to get a ticket to exit each time you take the vehicle out even on the same day. A convenient single pass/ticket exit system for the length of stay for Adina customers would be helpful.
I would give zero stars if I could. DO NOT stay here. I parked at its parking station and my car was broken into. I had belongings stolen and damage to the car was sustained. The hotel concierge didn’t care one bit. Didn’t even offer to call the Police. What a joke of a place. They don’t care about their customers or their wellbeing, let alone their safety.
Staff needs to smile and welcome guest. Price was $315.00 On arrival charged $409.00 No room service. No soaps and creams as advertised. Not enough towels for three guest. Extra bedding was fold out couch that we had to pull out. No linen for bed. Had to ring twice waiting 20 minutes. Small milk provided not enough for two coffees. Coffee lounge down stair with food that looked days old.
