We recently flew in from Brisbane for a work and leisure trip to Melbourne and booked the Penthouse suite at Adina. Unfortunately, we were left thoroughly disappointed. For a start, basic amenities were lacking. There were no glasses in the room, and we had to specifically request these items. When we went to reception to ask for drinking glasses, we were greeted by a staff member who wasn’t paying attention and was quite literally picking her nose.. This kind of interaction was both unprofessional and off-putting. The furniture was not up to standard either—the seats were dirty (couches inside also appeared to have cigarette burns as pictured), and we noticed odd red-colored residue on the ceilings. The dining area was dusty and clearly hadn't been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. To add to the frustration, there was also no water provided in the room, something we’d normally expect as a basic offering (especially for a penthouse suite). Having stayed at other Adina properties in both Melbourne and Brisbane, we’ve never experienced such poor maintenance or attention to detail. The only redeeming factor of this location is its prime position in Melbourne, but sadly, that didn’t make up for the overall disappointing stay. For the price and reputation of Adina, this stay did not meet expectations, and we certainly won’t be returning to this particular location.
We checked out this morning from one of the most horrid stays. Travelling with our 6 month old for work and leisure we stayed in a two bedroom apartment. We arrived after an 9hr trip and there was no available parking on site. The staff had no other alternatives to offer us just that we needed to look it up on our phone. We finally got to our room and the requested cot was not set up. Carpets were absolutely filthy, smelly and the air conditioning in our room was not working. Our linen was urine stained. After we complained someone came to look at the aircon and simply turned it on and off. We requested a pedestal fan but that was not provided. We resorted to sleeping on the floor next to the balcony door with it open for some airflow. For our second night we were given a new room , which room keys did not work for. In this room we did have 1 decent nights sleep. This morning we had staff knocking at our door at 0930 asking when we will be leaving so she can clean. We felt like an inconvenience to this facility. I have contacted management for a refund of our 1st nights accomodation and I have not heard from. I am so disappointed to have paid $995 for this stay, plus our parking at an alternative location brought the stay well over $1000.
The rooms are a good size but very dated and not very clean, housekeeping was not regular enough and we had to empty our own bin several times throughout our stay. Appliances in the kitchen are old and need updating, windows need a good clean. The beds are very comfortable and spacious. The washing machine and dryer works well. The pool although marketed as “heated” was not, and several guests with small children as well as adults noted that the temperature was surprisingly cold. When discussed this with reception they advised the pool is heated to 28 degrees, I felt this was not the case. They did advise that maintenance was addressing the issue, and was unable to be onsite during the weekend. The pool seemed to be marginally warmer on the Monday as noted by myself and another guest. There was also another guest who I spoke to who stays regularly who said she had noted a decline in service and maintenance over the years since she has been staying here.
We stayed in the pent house. Overall our stay was amazing we loved the location & the penthouse it's self. Very affordable for a luxury option. I would say the lighting up stairs isn't great with only a lamp as main light & the bathroom ventilation isn't good. But for the money and overall experience I would 100% stay agian for the price. Highly recommend if your looking for a budget friendly nice get away stay in the city.
Centrally located with big size rooms. We stayed for a week in the two bedroom apartment. Overall we recommend this hotel and recommend to email them for communication as Agoda messages hardly get through to them What we love: - location is amazing - rooms are big - rooms have washer and dryer built in - good service. Toby and the team were really helpful throughout the stay What could be better - the kitchen is very outdated - the pots are rusty and also have scratches on them causing it to burn the food easily - kettles are not in good shape, we bought one from Kmart ourselves - the high chairs for kids are very dirty and old
