•Little Lon Distilling Co is a gem nestled in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, housed within a charming heritage-listed red brick cottage dating back to 1877. This historical establishment, once situated in the bustling midst of the city's former slums and red light district, holds a rich tapestry of stories. It was a place where life unfolded with unbridled vivacity – libations flowed freely, agreements took shape, disputes found their voice, and the echoes of laughter reverberated through its alleyways.
Today, we proudly honor the vibrant legacy of the spirited denizens who once inhabited the hidden corners of Little Lon. Our craft is a testament to their enduring presence, as we meticulously distill a diverse range of small-batch gins. These spirits, steeped in the very essence of Melbourne's dynamic energy, capture the essence of this remarkable city. In each bottle, we encapsulate a piece of history, a touch of nostalgia, and a slice of Melbourne's indomitable spirit, ensuring that its essence continues to thrive through time.

Amazing Gin distillery inside a beautiful little cottage full of history in the CBD. They make great gins amongst other things and their cocktails are crafted beautifully. Their staff are always welcoming and friendly, definitely a must visit in Melbourne.
You can see how everyone who works there loves what they are doing. We were introduced and walked through by a lady about our drinks - fun and interesting. Gin was lovely.
Little Lon is a distillery in the once red light district of Melbourne , and the last remaining single storey dwelling to survive in the area . It has an old world ambience and a sense of history that you won’t find anyway else, tucked at the back end of Little Lonsdale Street down a cobblestone walkway . The lighting is minimal- think lighted lamps and high wooden bar stools , and although you can sit outside in a more open spaced area , I preferred the dimly lit cosy space inside . They have several gins on offer and I tried a flight with the Proudfoot , Ginger Mick and Miss Yoko - apparently Miss Yoko is the favourite , with its lychee notes , but being fond of citrus forward Gins , I preferred the Ginger Mick with its ginger taste . I also tasted the rhubarb and violette liqueur , which was a mixture of sweet and botanical and had a lovely violet hue . There is also a few snacks on offer while sipping , so I ordered the buffalo wings with the blue cheese dressing , they were done well and I couldn’t help covertly licking my fingers . The staff were friendly and happy to talk , and explain the gins , and the atmosphere is relaxed and homely . I could have quite happily sat there for longer , but unfortunately had a prior appointment so sadly had to leave . This is an overdone phrase , but it is a hidden gem and definitely worth the walk down the narrow streets .
We have been wanting to visit here for months! We finally made it & it did not disappoint! We were greeted by the most amazing server who called us "girly pops" which is now our favourite saying! They sat us outside, it was a beautiful evening. Our drinks were amazing. We went inside the little tiny distillery & had a look around the quaint bar inside, it's tiny, maybe seated 6, but the atmosphere is worth it. It's hidden away down an alley, so easy to miss, but DON'T! Go and experience history. We will be back!!
This was not a tasting but an experience. The gin was really good, the location is something special and the service was awesome. We got suggestions on how to drink the gin and a little history of the place. Thank you!
