The redeeming quality of the room was the bed - very comfortable. However, the state of the room was as follows: very prominent rust in the bathroom around the sink and Kleenex compartment. The water pressure was so aggressive, it was impossible not to flood the bathroom with its ricochet. There was a lightbulb missing from the nightstand lamp and therefore, it didn’t turn on. There was a stain on the curtain. Also, for safety reasons, I expected a deadbolt on the door but there wasn’t one. The staff were wonderful and very kind. When I brought up my issues, the attendant covered my $28 room service bill. Despite the comfortable bed and the kind staff, I don’t think it’s fair for this establishment to be calling themselves a 4 star hotel when its appearance suggested more of a 2 star at most.

The hotel was lovely and the Customer service was good. I would say that the bathroom needs to be cleaned better due to mold in the showers. It was not nice to shower somewhere where mold was growing. Better cleaning. Overall, Wonder stay.

I arrived very late at night and was grateful to check in with a friendly receptionist. My room was very spacious. The bed was comfortable. Internet was fast. And the location was pretty good. I was able to walk to a few of my meetings and enjoyed really interesting jogs on two of the three mornings I stayed there (Swan River is within 300m of the hotel and Kings Park about 1Km away). There’s a really good coffee shop just outside the hotel (Offshoot Coffee) and a cool speakeasy styled bar called Foxtrot Unicorn just down the road. (see perfect negroni photo)

Stayed 2 nights as needed to attend a conference in the city, breakfast was great, with ample choice of hot and cold food. Pool area is nice, seems to be under some type of renovation, but still usable. Reception staff are always helpful and polite, the staff on the breakfast shift are lovely and always treated us warmly and with a lovely smile.

We booked a two day stay at the Mercure. The room was spacious and clean. The bed comfortable. My only recommendation is that the shower grout be cleaned better. Reception staff were friendly and accomodating. The location is great. Close to cafes and the city centre to walk everywhere.
