Loved everything about this hotel. Beds extremely comfortable and pillows were divine. On the Thursday night when we arrived the valet was very full and a little trouble with getting bags and then moving car to convention centre car park which is not free parking for guests.(expensive 4 days or parking) however the location and rooms were fabulous. Would highly recommend and would stay here again (without a car) view from our room was lovely overlooking the oval

Have had an absolutely beautiful two days of bliss at the Intercontinental Hotel. Staff is friendly, compassionate and kind, who seem to aspire to achieve excellence and perfection. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable and accommodating to any needs required to be met. Special thanks to front desk Aryn for demonstrating such strong customer service skills and providing such detailed information about art pieces within the hotel, a true asset to the hotel and company. Breakfast- amazing staff all go above and beyond to please neither they nor the food could be faulted.

Venerable hotel with a great location. Decor is a bit dated, but it's a classic hotel. Solid breakfast buffet with plenty of variety. Excellent gym with free weights. Pool is tiny.

Booked a room with lounge access, had 4 sources of confirmation I had lounge access, checked in and was told I had no lounge access. Took over an hour to demonstrate all along the way I was told I had access, front of house staff had to keep running out the back to the manager to discuss, I think it’s terrible service for the manager not to come and speak to me in person. Apparently they should had sent me an email informing me regarding my lounge access but it had not been sent, I can only guess the manager was trawling for evidence that did not exist. I was made to feel like a criminal as I had been told the whole booking process I had lounge access but was refused. However I refused to let this pass and eventually I was provided access. I don’t know what the fuss was about, the lounge was terrible, as was the room. If you want a journey to the 80’s this is the hotel for you. The room was clean but VERY dated and the furniture was very stained. Not a intercontinental experience! Should had listen to my work colleagues that told me to avoid this hotel at all costs and use the contemporary IHG hotels nearby instead.

We came here 11/06/23 - 13/06/23. The room was very small, no kitchen or even dish washing facility, the bathroom was in a cupboard looking spot, loose nail in the door caught my dress and put a hole in it. Bed was horrible, one whole side had almost fully collapsed and we had to separate the two pushed together ensemble bases and turn one around to be able to actually sleep off the floor. But the staff were wonderful, food was alright, and the view was pretty. The pool was beautiful and warm, only issue with the pool was there was no wind barrier so you were freezing the second any part of you was out of the water. The on-site Japanese restaurant was CLOSED the ENTIRETY of our stay, and on top of what I paid for the room itself, the expenses were extreme. The buffet breakfast was expensive and average at best. Old and outdated rooms in this place, but it still holds a certain charm. Wouldn't pay what I did to come back, though.
