Sadly, after 35 years of constant visits, last weekend's anniversary stay was a disaster. Photos show why. Dead rat at dinner(!),filthy scum in basin, no bathmat,no milk in room, Woods restaurant closed Saturday night and hospitality staff who clearly need customer service training. Managers responses apologetic but barely sincere nor effective in assuring guests of any change. I did followup and reach out to next level management who returned my call. Again, apologetic n encouraging me to " reach out when we next stay to make sure you get great service". No, sorry, sad to say we won't return. Barely 3.5* now. Things have certainly changed dramatically for the worst at View Melbourne. It was a special place for us over decades, but it's not anywhere near the service nor hygienic high standard it was.

Our Stay at view Melbourne was amazing. We can't rate it highly enough. The rooms were the cheapest we could get but they definitely didn't compromise on quality. The lobby was quiet and we were able to get checked in promptly. We stayed a full week and couldn't be more happy with our stay. The views were nice, the room was spotless and clean and housekeeping came every day. We couldn't find a fault with the whole experience overall, we will definitely be back.

My family and I recently stayed at The View Melbourne Hotel over the Christmas holidays, and it was a delightful experience. The hotel's location is a significant plus, conveniently situated near main roads, the serene Albert Park, various restaurants, Alfred Hospital, and accessible public transport options like buses and trams. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Margherita, a friendly staff member who made our check-in process smooth and pleasant. She was thorough in explaining the housekeeping rules, ensuring that we were well-informed from the start. Our room was cozy and impeccably clean, providing a comforting retreat after our daily excursions. We appreciated the daily housekeeping service during our 3-night stay, which kept our room tidy and stocked with fresh towels regularly. An added convenience was the hotel's on-site basement parking. The rate of $19 per night for hotel guests felt reasonable and provided a sense of security for our vehicle. The breakfast buffet, priced at $29 per adult with a half-price option for children over 5, offered a wide selection of delicious choices to start our day. Overall, our stay at The View Melbourne Hotel was a positive experience. The combination of friendly service, cleanliness, and convenient location made it an ideal choice for our family holiday. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay in Melbourne.

The room is falling apart and dirty, we were offered a 10% discount on the room and 2 free drink cards as we were leaving. Refund never came through. I would avoid staying here at all costs untill some serious maitinence has been done, There are far better hotels close by. We stayed in the city view suite.

rooms have very thin wall, every sounds from the next room can be heard. We can have a conversation with next room 😂 even though they aren't loud. so so so bad!! the room was tidy but old and dirty
