Beautiful rooms! Staff were very nice and accommodating. Check in/out was very flexible. Love that you could do laundry! Although I do not suggest the morning of if you’re in a rush. But also high heat dry is not damaging/ pretty normal heat level- so don’t be scared! Reminder to also flip your light blue if you want your room cleaned daily before you leave..otherwise it doesn’t happen ! But agreed getting someone to answer the phone rather it be housekeeping or guest services took some time and patience. Pool area definitely more for vibes than actual use and service at the bar up there was not great. They ran out of soda water for my marg and just gave me tequila with the liqueur..
Stayed at Ovolo Brisbane the Valley and overall had a great experience. The hotel itself is stylish and well-located, making it easy to explore the area. The room was a little on the small side, but still comfortable and functional. One downside was housekeeping. The room wasn’t serviced until around 3–4pm the following day, which felt quite late. On the plus side, complimentary bottled water was a nice touch and much appreciated. The biggest surprise was the parking fee: $60 per day for valet or onsite parking. That’s steep sometimes more than the cost of flights or even car hire and fuel! If you’re driving, I’d recommend looking for nearby parking alternatives to save some serious cash. All in all, not too bad worth considering if you’re after a boutique stay in a vibrant location.
So many things wrong from the moment we arrived. Poor reception team. Bar staff were useless. Sent up the worst espresso martini’s I’ve ever seen. When questioned, the response was “they’re supposed to be like that”. Rooftop had no loungers (we booked specifically to lounge around the pool) - all of the images of used to promote the pool clearly had loungers. When we bought this to their attention, they said they would source some. Never heard back from them. No where to have an important Zoom meeting upon early check in. Phoned reception five times without answer in the middle of the day. Dirty bed sheets and bathroom. I could go on and on … Very unaccomodating overall. I did make a complaint through their internal procedure hoping to avoid leaving a one star review but never heard back (it’s been over three weeks)
Best of the best hotel choice every time I have business trip in Brisbane. Appreciate very comfy Large Spa Room with complete amenities, self service laundry facilities, efficient check in and check out process, nice breakfast experience. Thank you so much Ovolo the Valley Hotel staffs for great services and hospitality.
I will write the facts about our stay at The Ovolo for our wedding. I stayed for two nights, the first with my mother and the second with my new husband. On the second day, I also got ready with my mother and sisters, and my bridesmaids came by for photos later. - We signed up for valet parking. We waited 5 minutes in the drive before going inside to find someone to take the car. I parked the car in the open-air parking outside the shops before anyone could move it. - Mum and I received a bottle of prosecco on ice on arrival. I called and asked if this could be collected and re-set for the next night when I'd be there with my new husband. I was promised a second bottle and a full turndown of the room in the afternoon after we left for the wedding. - When we were getting ready on day 2, we asked for water that we never got. - When my new husband and I arrived to our room for our wedding night, it had not been serviced at all. The bins were full, breakfast dishes from room-service were still there, the bed hadn't been made. We waited approx. 20 minutes for someone from reception to bring us towels. He also brought us a bottle of red wine as no new bottle awaited us on arrival, as had been promised. - When I spoke to reception about these issues on our wedding night, we were told the room would be comped for the night. - The next morning, we were offered free valet parking instead. When I emphasised how disappointed we were, they also offered us 50% off our second night, as well as all incidentals free. - 2 weeks later, I had to call The Ovolo because they had not charged me correctly and were still withholding funds, which were not released until 2.5 weeks after my stay. We selected The Ovolo due to its beauty and good reputation. Given it was the most important night of our lives, we decided to splurge. After our stay, I felt undervalued and embarrassed that I had to call a hotel of this calibre out on repeated issues. While I loved the aesthetic and features of our room, I do not recommend staying at this hotel for a special occasion due to poor service.
