The Lorne Mantra provided a wonderful stay when we attended a recent wedding. The location was lovely with the beach at your doorstep and a variety of cafes, restaurants and stores in walking distance. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Breakfast was great and offered a variety of appetizing choices. Having stayed at The Mantra many years ago, not a lot has changed with the complex itself, perhaps the rooms and decor could do with a few upgrades and zhuzhing up. Finally, unfortunately to check process was extremely lengthy at the 2pm check in time. Could do with extra staff at this time or perhaps initiate a staggered check in time. Overall, a good stay.
Good hotel in the heart of Lorne - great location. We stayed in the Heritage section (the original Erskine House building). Just be aware no lifts in this building and as we were on the second floor there were 4 flights of stairs to negotiate and a loooong walk to our room. Other than that the hotel is fine. Breakfast was good. Guest laundry facilities were welcome and we used them. Beer garden off restaurant which is nice. Room itself has everything as listed on hotel site. Bathroom very nice and everything clean. One design flaw - the fridge is in the wardrobe. So when you hang your clothes they sit on top of the fridge 🤷♂️
If I could give zero stars I would! I booked a specific room almost a year ago and when I arrived was not given the room I chose. I told the lady and she refused to give me the room I booked and told me the room was booked by someone else! I'm autistic and chose this specific room as it is familiar to me and the only decent room in the hotel that would make me feel comfortable enough for my special needs. Instead we got stuck in a terrible room. The whole heritage building stunk like mould and the room had stained smelly carpet and the grout in the bathroom was so dirty. Our "ocean view" was barely visible and the bath tub ledge was so high that when I got in and out of it I ended up hurting my leg really badly. I am now bruised black and blue on my leg and it hurts to walk. I feel like suing them it's so unsafe !! I paid $700 a night for the best room in the hotel and was forced to stay in this hole instead! The room and building smelt so bad I was in constant sensory overload. It is not an autism friendly hotel. It's dirty and smelly. Also the furniture was all stained and the kitchen chairs were all ripped you couldn't even sit comfortably. The double bed ended up being two beds stuck together and was uncomfortable. I'm really sad as it ruined my trip which I planned a long time ago and they wouldn't listen to me or give me some money back for putting me in a bad room. They don't care about you and just rip you off. I will never go back the staff just don't care. You are better off camping in a tent that would be luxury compared to this! How can you take all this money off people and make them stay in a place so disgusting ! Shame on you!
Booked for a girls weekend away. Such an amazing place with great service and fantastic facilities. The room was super clean, with a great view from the balcony and we had the best reclining couches. Such a beautiful location next to the beach as well. Will defs be back! 🩷🫶🏼
We booked a two night stay and it was perfect. The staff and service friendly, efficient and helpful. The location right on the beach. Dinner was delightful and again smiling helpful staff made it even better. Food was great with plenty of variety. The apartment has everything you could want , was cleaning spacious and we were lucky to have an ocean view. Buffet breakfast very generous and lots of variety. Highly recommend a stay here.
