I had a fantastic experience at Rydges Canberra. A special thank you to Josh, the bartender, for his friendly attitude, excellent customer service, and great drink recommendations. He made us feel genuinely welcome and created a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. I’d also like to recognise Mani, the Duty Manager, for his professionalism and outstanding hospitality. He went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and that we had a comfortable stay. His attention to detail and willingness to help really stood out. Both Josh and Mani are a credit to the Rydges Canberra team. Their exceptional service made our visit memorable, and I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great hospitality.

The hotel itself was in a great location, the bed was comfy but that’s where it all stops. The money you pay you would think it has style and up market. But unfortunately things in my room were falling apart was old mouldy and filthy. The tv didn’t work properly internet wouldn’t connect carpet was dirty fridge broken. It was like we were staying in a pub. Breakfast buffet I was so excited for this as I stay around in many venues I would sadly say this is my worst I would be more excited for McDonalds. Nothing much was to offer in the buffet and what they had was stone cold. The cake selection was one tiny muffin brought in tomato’s were sad no toppings for the cold pancakes so kids were devastated. Plates were dirty on the shelf not much cutlery even had to have take away cups as the man said it’s easier to serve just takeaways. I had to as a waiter to clean a table as all tables were filled with plates and rubbish it is a great reflection to why the room was just as filthy. I wish I read all the reviews I will not be sending any of my family or staff here. Not worth paying for.

I get the feeling this place would have been really good, fifteen years ago. Ask the bartender at 2.30pm if there is anything to eat i was met with a bland stare and the reply "not until 4". All to be had was plain packet of crisps, no nuts, no flavours. Plain. We had a deluxe suite. Tatty worn carpet . Shower door was missing the bottom seal and looks moldy. Room is noisy thanks to the bathroom vents, note to the neighbours we can hear everything. EVERYTHING. The positives are very very comfortable warm bed, and you need it as the heating doesn't work right. Will I stay here again? No. There's better bang for bucks out there. This place is just average. Just.

We stayed in the Ambassador Room at Rydges Canberra. The room is spacious, but the setup feels a bit dated—no espresso machine, no bathrobes, a tiny mini-fridge, and all the snacks/drinks are paid minibar stock. Very well located in the heart of Canberra, The reception and bar/garden area are lovely, modern, and very relaxing. Great entertainment area that the kids really enjoyed! Pool: Deep (mostly 2.1m), so it’s best for confident swimmers rather than little kids. Gym: Compact, but well-equipped for a good workout. Overall, a comfortable, high-space stay if you don't mind mid-range, older-style finishes over modern luxury. If you are not an early morning person, ensure your room is not on main street side, to avoid the traffic noise in the morning.

Service is great but the property feels very dated. Would recommend if you aren't fussy and just happy with a bed and shower. Met my needs for a work trip but not for me if I was staying for leisure - didn't vibe with the property at all. Thumbs up: - frontdesk staff friendly and helpful - size of room (suite) was generous - competitive rate (via EVT rewards) - discounted parking (with rate booked) Thumbs down: - couldn't find property info / local guide in room - room decor a bit dull - underground parking is tight
