I had a fantastic experience at Rydges Canberra. A special thank you to Josh, the bartender, for his friendly attitude, excellent customer service, and great drink recommendations. He made us feel genuinely welcome and created a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. I’d also like to recognise Mani, the Duty Manager, for his professionalism and outstanding hospitality. He went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and that we had a comfortable stay. His attention to detail and willingness to help really stood out. Both Josh and Mani are a credit to the Rydges Canberra team. Their exceptional service made our visit memorable, and I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great hospitality.

I get the feeling this place would have been really good, fifteen years ago. Ask the bartender at 2.30pm if there is anything to eat i was met with a bland stare and the reply "not until 4". All to be had was plain packet of crisps, no nuts, no flavours. Plain. We had a deluxe suite. Tatty worn carpet . Shower door was missing the bottom seal and looks moldy. Room is noisy thanks to the bathroom vents, note to the neighbours we can hear everything. EVERYTHING. The positives are very very comfortable warm bed, and you need it as the heating doesn't work right. Will I stay here again? No. There's better bang for bucks out there. This place is just average. Just.

We had an extremely enjoyable stay for 3 nights using 2 king rooms at the end of the school holidays. The hotel itself is older as mentioned in other reviews, but our rooms were very clean and comfortable and well appointed. Beds were very comfy & quiet for our 1 and 6 year old. There was a wedding the first night on our level but the room was so well sound proofed, we didn't have any noise once doors were closed. Buffet breakfast was great and we had dinner in the hotel all 3 nights because food was yum, it was fast & convenient and they were very accommodating to the kids. The pool & spa were great - temps were good for a swim even in winter and the kids loved it. What made our stay truly special though was the staff! From the moment I called to book & right through our stay, every staff member we had contact with were lovely & welcoming and truly went above & beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Ali was really accommodating through the booking process and made sure my 6 year old had a little surprise waiting in the room for his birthday. Another staff member who went above & beyond for us was Jordan. Not only was he super attentive and lovely for us to chat to at breakfast, he was excellent with our kids- Noah is still talking about you Jordan- thank you for making our stay so special! The staff really care - there was a games area set up because it was holidays with boardgames, basketball hoops, foosball etc for the kids too. You can see the effort they've gone to in order to cater to families and kids. We loved our Canberra getaway, thank you to the beautiful team at Rydges Canberra.

A solid and reliable hotel with real potential to be outstanding. Rooms are comfortable and you’ll have a great night’s sleep, but the layout and décor feel dated. A full interior refresh would make a noticeable difference and bring the property in line with what modern travellers expect. Breakfast and restaurant — genuinely excellent. Great variety, well presented, and attentive service. A real highlight of the stay. Parking at $25/night is the one frustration. For a hotel of this category, parking should be included. It’s a small thing that leaves a sour note on an otherwise good experience. Overall, Rydges Canberra is a great base in the capital. With a room renovation and complimentary parking, this is easily a 5-star property. Looking forward to seeing it evolve.

Unfortunately, our stay at Rydges Canberra was disappointing. The bathroom cleanliness was well below what we would expect from a hotel of this standard. There was visible mould and staining around the shower and tiled areas, the shower drainage was extremely poor and caused water to flood across the bathroom floor, and the bathroom amenities were not properly stocked, with no body wash or shampoo available on arrival. While the staff were polite, the condition of the room significantly impacted our experience. Cleanliness and maintenance are basic expectations when staying in a hotel, and unfortunately this property did not meet those standards during our visit. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean and well-maintained place to stay.

It can be easily divided into three rooms which are suitable for large breakout rooms or smaller meetings.
