A solid and reliable hotel with real potential to be outstanding. Rooms are comfortable and you’ll have a great night’s sleep, but the layout and décor feel dated. A full interior refresh would make a noticeable difference and bring the property in line with what modern travellers expect. Breakfast and restaurant — genuinely excellent. Great variety, well presented, and attentive service. A real highlight of the stay. Parking at $25/night is the one frustration. For a hotel of this category, parking should be included. It’s a small thing that leaves a sour note on an otherwise good experience. Overall, Rydges Canberra is a great base in the capital. With a room renovation and complimentary parking, this is easily a 5-star property. Looking forward to seeing it evolve.

To be honest for what I paid for which included a free upgrade to a superior king room with breakfast included it really isn't worth the money. I have pictures of the room and the way it actually looks compared to what rydges has on its website as they don't really give you much pictures, there is no button to turn on while showering for ventilation, there is mold under the soap holder in the shower, there's white stuff on the tap just near the bathroom, they have broken cupboards, whatever that thing is called behind the door, bulging wall etc (the list goes on), to the owners of rydges, if you're making X amount of money each day, week and every year renting these rooms out this bed that I just put also shows for a superior King bed how dent and inward it is and you actually sink in it the side closest to the walk way, spend money and get new beds and fix up these rooms

Unfortunately, our stay at Rydges Canberra was disappointing. The bathroom cleanliness was well below what we would expect from a hotel of this standard. There was visible mould and staining around the shower and tiled areas, the shower drainage was extremely poor and caused water to flood across the bathroom floor, and the bathroom amenities were not properly stocked, with no body wash or shampoo available on arrival. While the staff were polite, the condition of the room significantly impacted our experience. Cleanliness and maintenance are basic expectations when staying in a hotel, and unfortunately this property did not meet those standards during our visit. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean and well-maintained place to stay.

i never write reviews for hotels but i was genuinely blown away with the exceptional service provided by Ali, Josh and another man working the front desk on the night of 12/06. All 3, Ali especially, went above and beyond for us multiple times. these men are the epitome of hospitality and their work is what makes a staying at this place worth it. I hope these guys are appreciated by their managers as much as they are by visitors like myself. Thanks lads, we’ll be back :)

One of the worst hotel experiences my family and I have ever had. We booked a two-night stay expecting a comfortable holiday with our children, but unfortunately the experience was completely unacceptable. The room had a strong unpleasant smell from the moment we entered. The air conditioning was not functioning properly and only the fan appeared to be working, leaving the room hot and uncomfortable throughout the night. The bed and pillows felt warm and uncomfortable, making it impossible for my family to sleep. My children could not sleep for more than an hour at a time. We repeatedly attempted to contact room service and reception during the night, but received no response on multiple occasions. After spending most of the night awake and distressed, I had no choice but to book another hotel at approximately 4:00 AM to ensure my family could get some rest. This is not the level of service anyone should expect when paying for accommodation. Guests pay good money expecting clean, comfortable rooms and responsive customer service. Unfortunately, neither was provided during our stay. The lack of support when assistance was needed most was extremely disappointing. I am requesting a refund for the unused second night of our booking and hope management will address these serious issues so future guests do not experience the same situation. Very disappointing and not an experience I would recommend.
