From ordinary to extraordinary! Unfortunately the government building site next door decided to do some late building works without advising the hotel. So there was some noise. So make sure when booking that you ensure you are on the view side overlooking Parliament House in the distance. The hotel quickly changed our room without anny fuss cause of the late night noise. So our experience just went from decent to outstanding thanks to a room change and some thoughtful vouchers. The new view is simply breathtaking and we couldn't be happier with our decision to choose this hotel. Kudos to the staff for going the extra mile and changing the room swiftly. Had a fantastic meal last night at the hotel and it was outstanding. The service, food and environment wonderful! Breakfast was just as good with massive servings. Staff are all attentive. Lovely hotel. The hotel has a twist of political decoration. Nice areas to sit and bar. Highly recommend

The main lobby and restaurant of the hotel are quite nice, however the rooms are very dated. Cigarette but on the balcony, light witch missing cover/pane. Small issues such as the Milk not refilled during room clean, a cigarette but left on the balcony (not ours) but was there for over the three days we stayed, the room attendant replacing the used coffee pods with all decafe pods. Minor issues but for the price I expected better. There is also significant construction occurring right outside the hotel for the light rail and this was not advised during the time of booking and no compensation or benefits were provided to guests due to this. All in all, I would not book QT Canberra again and would not recommend it to friends especially for the price.

You will need the air conditioning on because the room was warm. Room was missing an alarm clock, the usual bedside bible. It could also do with a night light and more soap in the bathroom and spare sheets for sleeping. Dark carpets will show dirt easily. But generally the room was comfortable, functional and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

The place is a great hotel, the light rail works have really made getting there and staying there unpleasant. It's not their fault, I hope they are being hugely compensated by the ACT Government for interruption of business and convenience. Knowing the Labor Gov in the ACT that's probably not the case, so if you want to support these guys during their tough operating conditions, you should. Just don't expect a quiet night if your room overlooks the construction works. I think their rooms are discounted at the moment, for that reason However the bar pricing is out of this world, watch it when you order wine by the glass, it's about 2x what you'd expect even for the "house" wine.

Great service and nice hotel. The air con was broken in my room however the staff gave us some free drinks to accommodate. Bed was comfortable and place has a nice vibe.
