Reviews for Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Amora Jamison Hotel! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and professional service. The staff were incredibly friendly and made sure all my needs were met. The room was spacious, modern, and spotless, with an incredibly comfortable bed and stunning views of the city. The amenities were top-notch, including the gym, pool, and on-site restaurant – all of which were great. The location is perfect – right in the heart of Sydney, with easy access to shopping, dining, and attractions. I loved how convenient everything was. I also appreciated the attention to detail in the design and decor of the hotel, which created a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere throughout my stay. If you're looking for a high-quality hotel experience in Sydney, I highly recommend the Amora Jamison Hotel. It was truly an unforgettable stay, and I can’t wait to return!

The room was nice and staff were helpful and let me swap rooms due to problems with the air conditioner, view was great. However, do NOT get the room service food. $41 for a wagyu beef burger with bacon. Already an absurd price, I expected it to be at least of good quality. It arrived and it was overcooked, did not have the bacon as advertised which was extremely disappointing, and was overall mediocre quality. Burgers can be purchased for well below 50% of the cost for substantially higher quality.

During my stay, I noticed that the staff had difficulty communicating in English, which led to some confusion for customers. I booked two rooms for my family, and unfortunately, both had issues. The air conditioning in both rooms was inadequate, making the rooms stuffy with a musty odor. Additionally, the fridge in one room was not working. While the pool, sauna, and steam room were nice, the pool was far too cold to enjoy. The rooms had very good views, which was the highlight of the hotel. The car parking fee of $67 is quite high and exceeds the rates charged by similar hotels in the area.

The location of the hotel Amora is central to many of the main tourist areas. Being a busy hotel there was a certain sense of detachment from the experience. The only staff we met were those on the main door and they were polite and helpful. In general the room was fine although it looked and felt a bit tatty in places. With no soft close on the drawers they banged closed every time we used them. The mirror in the main room was not clean when we arrived and still not cleaned when we left. The bath had an obvious repair. We were slightly disappointed with the hotel room which was a shame as we really enjoyed our time visiting Sydney.

The location is the only good part of Amora Hotel Sydney, as it’s close to the city center and convenient for getting around. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. The reception staff is inconsistent—some are kind and friendly, while others are outright rude. It feels like there’s no standard training for the team. The lift is outdated and problematic. It closes on people, has an unpleasant smell, and the card sensor often doesn’t work properly, requiring multiple attempts to register your floor. The room was okay, but the toilet wasn’t as clean as I’d expect from a hotel claiming to be five stars. On top of that, this is the first time I’ve seen a so-called 5-star hotel charge money for bottled water, which is shocking. Overall, I’d rate this as a 3-star experience at best. I’m honestly unsure how this hotel attained a 5-star rating.
