Reviews for The Sebel Quay West Suites Sydney

What a mixed bag this was! Great view from our 23rd floor room, which was more of an apartment, really. The room was clean, comfortable and well furnished with a couple of minor flaws - like the bin, hot water pressure and the air-con. Access to the hotel lobby via someone else's car park elevator dampened the arrival experience somewhat but staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great - it's a 10 minute walk to the Rocks and Circular Quay and about 20 minutes to the Town Centre. Light rail option makes this super easy.

We booked for the pool views and were not disappointed! The pool and spa on level 23 have absolutely breathtaking views of the Harbour and Opera House—such a memorable spot to relax and enjoy as a family. The rooms were spacious, clean, and perfect for families, with plenty of room to spread out and the sofa bed already made up on arrival. Everything was well-stocked (coffee machine with ciffee pods, tea, milk, and sugar) and replenished daily, which made our stay really convenient. The check-in process was smooth, and we loved that we could still use the facilities after check-out. With a late flight, being able to enjoy the pool, gym, sauna and showers while our bags were safely stored made a huge difference for us and the kids. Pool towels were provided, which was a big help with little ones in tow. The staff were friendly and great with communication before and during our stay. The only slight challenge was the walk from Circular Quay train, as the area near The Rocks has some stairs and uphill sections. With luggage, it’s much easier to take the lift near the Harrison Street car park entrance (a great tip for families). Overall, this hotel was family-friendly, convenient, and offered unbeatable views. We’d happily stay again and highly recommend it for anyone travelling with kids.

I chose to stay here because it was actually cheaper to book a two-bedroom apartment than a one-bedroom room at the Sofitel Wentworth—prices have really skyrocketed lately! The apartment had clearly been refurbished and was spotlessly clean. It came with two fridges, which was super handy for storing groceries. There was also a full kitchen with an oven, microwave, and dishwasher, plus a laundry and two bathrooms. The toilets had seat warmers and bidet which I’d never seen before. It even had three TVs, which was a nice bonus. I’ll share some photos (taken just before I checked out, so excuse the mess!) so you can get a sense of the space. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, which made check-in and check-out easy. The only downside was the breakfast, which was very basic and disappointing. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast made vegan, and it was just a small serve of baked beans, half a grilled tomato, sourdough toast, and hash browns. The self-serve options weren’t much better—some not-so-fresh fruit, juice, and a limited selection of cereal. I’d suggest not adding breakfast and finding somewhere else or making your own in the room. The pool was beautiful and the spa was nice and warm! I did not try the sauna but I’ll likely return and see.

Even though we were in the non-refurbished part, the apartment was in excellent condition and we had a great view of the city. On the 15th floor, it was very quiet and peaceful. Easy walk to Circular Quay, the train station and Sydney Harbour bridge, with lots of eating places within a very short walk. We loved staying at this place.

The Sebel Quay West Review The property is quite old, and it feels more like a condominium or mansion-style residence rather than a typical hotel. However, the carpet flooring was clean and well-maintained. Overall, the unit is equipped with a refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer, but these appliances are not high-end brands like Samsung or LG, so you need to be cautious as they could potentially damage clothing. The space is comfortable to use, and the views are the biggest highlight—you can enjoy wide-open views of the Harbour, North Sydney, and the north-west direction. Depending on the room, you may also get views toward Darling Harbour or the city. The pool and gym are a bit outdated, but they are maintained as well as possible. It feels similar to an older but luxurious condo in Tribeca, Manhattan. From the pool, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. The location is excellent—Circular Quay is very close, as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art and Walsh Bay. Breakfast is based on a selection menu, and the system is a bit inconvenient as you need to get coffee and other items by yourself. The quality of the fruit and buffet bar is noticeably low. The staff are friendly, though they seemed a bit tired from dealing with many tourists. Rita, in particular, was outstanding as a manager—she was very kind and provided helpful guidance and information. This property is not exactly a luxury or fully serviced hotel, and it sits in the mid-to-upper price range. It is ideal for travelers—both international and domestic—who are traveling with family, want to cook their own meals, and wish to stay within walking distance of The Rocks, the business district, the Harbour Bridge, and the Opera House. Rather than expecting hotel-level service or lounge facilities, think of it as using an Airbnb-style apartment operated under the stable All Accor brand. Overall, it is a solid option for travelers who want to save on budget while still enjoying great views, comfort, and a reasonable price—not too cheap, not too expensive. However, I had an urgent situation: due to the airline losing my luggage, I needed to take my prescription medication daily. I asked the hotel for assistance in arranging a hospital visit. Initially, they refused, saying it was against policy. But after reporting the case to the manager, Rita—the manager—was extremely kind. She personally came to my room, explained everything clearly, and offered full guidance. The hotel-arranged doctor said the situation was beyond what they could handle and advised me to visit a major hospital instead. Rita helped me choose St. Vincent’s Hospital, which I had already been considering as it was the closest reputable hospital. Thanks to her help, I was able to receive both my medication and treatment for my surgical area. Although the cost was high, the entire process was completed in about six hours, which was a great relief. I was very grateful to Manager Rita, and I even sent a separate email and message to the ALL Accor management team to let them know about this positive experience and her outstanding support.
