We booked for 7 nights. 2 adults flying up from Melbourne. Disappointed there was nowhere on the website when looking at rooms to identify what floor or level the room was on. We were on the ground floor in a very dark room with little natural light. No view of the ocean (which is what you want if escaping Melbourne weather) Our view was a tiny outdoor area with a tree that did not allow sunlight. Our bedroom was at the rear of the apartment next to the lane way from a corridor to the pool area. Corridor lights were on ALL night and shone into our bedroom, therefore making it difficult to sleep as the venetians did not block this out. The electrical switchboard in the walk in robe next to our bedroom omitted a buzzing sound -so loud we had to switch this off during the night. Cleaners came and vacuumed the entire corridors anywhere from 6.30 am to 8.30 am which is not ideal when you're on holidays. The shower took at least 5 minutes to warm up then it was burning hot! Extractor fans not working. Dishwasher was broken - we notified front desk, but would have preferred they knew and rectified this before us taking the apartment. The room was clean, contemporary and well equipped for a few days stay although we had to purchase salt, sugar, coffee, milk, toilet paper and dish liquid. This place was recommended by a friend but sadly, I would not return.
DIY Vacation
Check in was quite rude when we were a little early for our stay. Didn’t offer to look after our bags. However, when we returned we were greeted by someone else and they were really lovely. The location is outstanding so it almost offsets the areas the hotels lacks. The room was quite dated, the plates, knives and utensils were almost breaking (room 1044). There is a strict rule of putting all rubbish out before you leave, however we found when we sat down when we first arrived there was rubbish under the tv.

I have stayed here a few times now and cannot fault it! The location is incredible- only minutes away from the beach, all shops and restaurants and only a short drive to the airport! Rooms are lovely with a few essentials to set you up (dishwashing liquid/laundry soap etc). Mostly though- I want to comment on how wonderful the staff were, special mention to Stef. Working the whole Easter weekend with a smile on her face and so helpful and accomodating at any request. She is most definitely an asset to this facility! Will always stay at Swell whenever we visit Burleigh Heads!

We ended up in a room right on the highway, which was already noisy. Then the roads people started working at about 7pm - they worked all night. To top it off, the AC made a huge racket all night - terrible - so there was no relief. A shame, because most of the benefits of this place, are good.

Rooms are dated. Torn couch cover, marks on walls. Room wasn't a serviced one even for $430 night. No fresh towels, but you can hire clean ones. The "welcome pack" was a disgrace. After that we had to supply our own.. yes even toiler paper.
