Reviews for Novotel Melbourne on Collins

Novotel Melbourne on Collins is in an unbeatable location right in the heart of the CBD, which makes it incredibly convenient for shopping, dining, and getting around the city. You really can’t fault where it’s situated—it’s perfect for anyone wanting to be in the middle of everything. The staff were a definite highlight of the stay. They were friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist with any questions or requests, which made the overall experience much more pleasant. Their service really stood out and added a positive touch to the visit. However, the rooms themselves are quite dated and fairly basic. There’s nothing particularly special about them—just the essentials like a bed and standard facilities. It would have been nice to have a few extra amenities such as toothbrushes or other small touches that many hotels now provide. One of the main downsides was the lift situation. During our stay, only one lift was working, which meant long wait times, especially during busy periods. It seems this is a common issue, as there are quite a few reviews mentioning the same problem. Overall, a convenient and comfortable stay mainly due to the location and great staff, but the facilities could definitely use an upgrade.

I came here for a business trip. The facilities provided were pretty good, the coffee was not bad but not as good as other places nearby in Melbourne. The room was pretty good, nice shower area, bed was decent with charging on bedside tables available. A nice lounging chair. View was a little weird looking inwards at other peoples windows. I had issues checking in originally but the staff were able to sort it out within 2 hrs. The elevator also wasnt working when i was there so using the stairs with luggage was not fun, although likely an isolated event. The location is great, right in the heart of Melbourne CBD.

This hotel offers excellent value for money and is conveniently located in a bustling area with all the amenities within walking distance. The ambiance and rooms are both impressive, and the breakfast is a highlight with a wide variety of options to cater to all tastes. Highly recommended!

Novotel Melbourne On Collins Great location right in the centre of the city - free tram zone. It's near museums, galleries, theatres, shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, so on. I stayed in the Delux Twin room. It was the basic hotel room, reasonable space for two of us, also we could practice some Yoga movement together. There was a kettle, coffee and tea bags in the room. There were a gym, a swimming pool and spa facilities located on the 7th floor, it faced to the courtyard, big open space, high ceiling. The size of the pool was short and shallow, not long enough for serious swimmers but it was good for Aqua aerobics, or just for paddle or splashing. The hotel staff were friendly and very kind. The access to the hotel was very easy, that is, only a minute to tram station, and minutes to train stations. Very convenient location. It's not a luxury hotel but it was very nice enjoyable and relaxing hotel right in the centre of Melbourne. And it was very reasonable price. If you are looking for convenient place to stay for enjoying the Melbourne city life - highly recommended.

I am absolutely appalled by the hygiene standards of the rooms and the lack of adequate cleaning by staff during my stay. I felt as though I was staying in a budget hotel despite paying for accommodation that was certainly not budget-priced. To begin with, there were no bathrobes provided for use when accessing the pool area, leaving us to walk through the hotel carrying bath towels instead. The lighting in the room was extremely dim, and to make matters worse, the light above my bed was not functioning at all. Basic amenities were not adequately supplied, and I had to request a standard sewing kit several times before it was finally provided. Tea bags and bottled water were also not replenished daily as expected. Most concerning, however, was the poor level of cleanliness throughout the room. There was visible mould on the shower ceiling, which is completely unacceptable. The room was never cleaned to an acceptable standard during our stay. It was evident that the floors had not been vacuumed, as the same piece of thread remained on the floor for the entire four days we were there. On two separate occasions, rubbish bins were left tipped over in the middle of the room rather than being properly placed back in position. The bathroom sink had also clearly not been wiped down. I raised concerns regarding the cleanliness during my stay, however my complaint appeared to fall on deaf ears and no meaningful improvement was made. I have stayed in many hotels throughout Melbourne and can honestly say I would never recommend Novotel Melbourne on Collins to anyone. The standard of cleanliness, presentation, and overall service was far below expectations and frankly embarrassing for a hotel of this reputation.
