I was pleasantly surprised with how quick the check-in process was, loved that parking was directly across the road. The room was beautiful, and the bathroom was very nice also- the mirror light was an amazing touch. I had the best stay, I would definitely stay here again 😍
Really enjoyable stay with our family, only very minor issues - the call centre i talked to inverted my names, and one day didn’t get enough towels. Everything else was great, concierge was extremely helpful throughout the entire trip, and the reception was also really good- dealt with the only problem I had immediately (a dry cleaned jacket wasn’t returned by 8PM as promised, however when raised with reception they immediately fixed this error).
Overall, I am very satisfied with the experience. Kids loved the pool. We stayed during winter, so having the heated pool is a bonus for the kids to play. The service is 5 star. The only thing I don't understand is that the room was not ready at 3 pm when we check-in, since it's supposed to be ready by 2 pm. I'm guessing Novotel was really busy or they are short staff, since we arrived at 12.30pm and was asked to come back at 2pm. Otherwise, everything else was great.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Novotel Melbourne on Collins. This hotel is very centrally located to shops, theatres and attractions. The family room was very comfortable and spacious. We also enjoyed the breakfast which had a great variety of breakfast favourite's. The scrambled eggs were creamy and velvety, the bacon was fresh and not overcooked and the coffee from the machine was strong and enjoyable. The only minor thing with the stay was that one of the lifts was out of service coming up to the third floor where reception is (unfortunately there are only 2 lifts up to this level). The rest of the lifts from the third floor up were fine with four working lifts up to your room.
Situated around the corner from the Block Arcade, the hotel is very central. I had the queen room, which was quite spacious and always clean with facilities in good working order. On my first night, I ordered room service dinner and was told it would arrive in half an hour to 45 minutes. After an hour and 10 minutes, I called room service, who seemed to not recall my order. They immediately sent it up, and I received it 20 minutes later. However, I should have gone out and eaten as the meal was overpriced for what was presented. I ordered the king prawn linguine, which had a lot of linguine and 4 prawns. That's for next time. I also ordered breakfast in bed, which arrived promptly and hot. Hollandaise eggs with smoked ham and hash browns. Quite heavy on the ham but good overall. Coffee was very weak. There are many great places to have breakfast within a 3 - to 5-minute walk from the hotel.
