We arrived Friday 22/11/24 for a Saturday Chrissy party. Great location and the rooms are nice. Friday night perfect with many drinks at the hotel bar. All great and no complaints. Saturday evening I return to the hotel and the room air conditioner was not working. Called reception and they were not a great help. The AC did not work all night and the room AC panel said it was 26 but felt more like 36. Which equaled no sleep after a great day. I've stayed here before and everything again was perfect. Novatel did not offer great service this time which is very disappointing. I will request a refund for the night and I'm hoping they honor it.

Very dreadful experience stay! Had very hot 2 days 36 degree's celsius and above stay over the weekend. Upon arrival in the room several amenities which should have been in the room were missing. I had to call for robes, slippers, tooth brush and water. The air conditioning wasn’t working during the first night. Spoke with several staff members of reception following day at about 1 pm after we had breakfast and left for a wander in the city both in person and over the phone with confusing information about the single chiller they only have and engineering are working on it which they said would be fixed within a few hours, we had left to go to use the pool as there was no cool air in the room. When wet returned later the issue wasn’t resolved the air conditioning thermostat was still sitting on 23.5 degrees same as it was when we left at 1pm for the pool. As there was no air circulating we had to request for a fan and have both air conditioning and fan running same time. We left at 5pm to go for dinner and outside was so much cooler than inside. Upon return at 8pm spoke with reception and they said that it was fixed now and the room will start to cool down as it already feels cooler. This only felt cooler due to the drop in temperature outside.

Stayed 5 nights at Novotel. Location was fantastic. Room was nice, with soft comfortable bedding. Staff were courteous and friendly. Breakfast was good although not much changes day to day. A slightly different daily menu would be better for those staying many days. Would definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Melbourne.

Had the worst stay of our lives. The receptionist staff was rude and unhelpful. Hangs up on your line. The air conditioning is broken and set at 25 degrees heater the last 2 nights. We could not sleep until 5 am. The room has nothing, no toothbrush toothpaste, poor amenities. The staff was not even apologetic about their broken airconditioning and instead were rude about it and said cannot guarantee it will be fixed! Poor hotel, worse than 1 star. Save yourself and go somewhere else.
Tee Bee
The worst experience we’ve had at a hotel in our lives. Check in was 2pm, we had to wait in reception for an hour and a half before our room was finally ready. We were refused a later checkout for compensation, instead received a free drink. On entering the room, the temperature was bordering 26c and on two occasions has reception (after numerous attempts to call) send someone up to gaslight us about the air conditioning was just repaired and would slowly work within the hour. This was a lie. Speaking to other guests, the air conditioning had been not working for at least the day before. Cooling off in the pool was some comfort however the area was run down, chunks of tiles missing and the spa broken. The room ammenities also felt run down. Internal doors not closing properly, loud squeaking in the hinges and the tv remote was virtually useless. Currently it’s 4:30 am, with little sleep we have resorted to leave the bar fridge door open in a meek attempt to cool our room down. The has been the single worst accommodation experience we have had and we are watching to clock so we can go home.
