Great hotel. We had an issue with noise from works occuring on floor above us which was surprising but the manager did everything she could to look after us and put a stop to the works for duration of the stay. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and we had a lovely bottle of champagne presented in our room with a nice message from the hotel. Will defintely go back.
Positives - Fantastic views - Good bar/restaurant - Good housekeeping and fast enough room service in relatively plush rooms. - Nice pool area. - Nice casual lounge that you can relax in, read etc between service times if you want to escape your room. - Some of the more expensive rooms have balconies. - great inner city location, easy walk to train stations. Negatives - Ongoing lift renovation that seems never finished equals long waits - No minibar - Rooms are a little dated and could probably utilize the space slightly better. - No power points at one side of the bed. - Poor expectation management re early check-in. It doesn’t seem to exist, even as a paid option. Which is fine, but don’t string people along with the possibility of a call that you might be able to check in early at then call past 3pm. I’d rather know upfront so I can make alternative arrangements. - The lounge breakfast is almost too self serve and it seems they don’t tend to it between the time they set it up and the time they pack up. As a result when we got there at 10 (when they advise breakfast to 11 on weekends) there were used plates everywhere, no knives, a broken coffee machine, fruit flies buzzing around the fruit and congealed eggs all over the egg spoon. Pretty gross all considered.
I recently stayed at Swissôtel Sydney for a business trip and found it to be a strong choice for corporate travel. The hotel is very well located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, making it highly convenient for meetings, transport, and access to dining options. The rooms were well-appointed, clean, and comfortable, with a functional workspace that made it easy to stay productive. Wi-Fi connectivity was reliable, which is essential when working remotely or managing meetings. Service throughout the stay was professional and efficient. Check-in and check-out were handled smoothly, and staff were responsive without being intrusive. The overall environment strikes a good balance between business-focused and comfortable, which is ideal for work-related travel. The only downside during my stay was that several elevators were out of service. This resulted in longer wait times, particularly during peak hours, which was a noticeable inconvenience when working to a schedule. Overall, Swissôtel Sydney delivers a high-quality, professional experience suitable for business travellers. Aside from the temporary lift issues, it’s a reliable and well-positioned option that I would consider staying at again.
The hotel is well located in the middle of Sydney, walking distance to many of the tourist attractions. In my opinion, it was on the pricy end for the condition of the hotel. I would not give it 5 stars. It so happened that a few days prior to my stay, a storm had rendered the gym unusable. We were given the option of using the gym of a partner hotel, which was not a very convenient solution. This just shows that the hotel is in need of a renovation. I went to celebrate my birthday and anniversary with my wife. The hotel took note and left us a present in the room. This was warm, and we appreciated it. The breakfast is a full buffet. It's good, but not amazing. The first day, the cook did not make a good omelet. On the second day, I was lucky that the cook changed to one who knew how to make them better. Overall, it was a good stay, but I would consider other places next time I am in Sydney.
It's a nice property with an excellent location. Staff is very friendly. Amenities are good. Gym is also good. Room is comfortable. Only thing when we checked out at around 05:00 am, there was no person available at counter or anywhere, there should be at least one human deployment around the clock.
