Hotel location is great, lobby bar great, the person's at the bar could be trained more professional, they charge me wrong, did not know about Accor discounts, and sometimes the girls are more having a chat with each other then doing their job what they are getting paid for, laughing, chatting and did not observe me and so on. So I had 2 rooms, and also breakfast. But when I have to pay already for the breakfast 30 aud and then I will be charged extra for sparkling water, sorry I am loosing myself. At the breakfast The fruits so loveless, butter and cheese placed fully in the sun, waiting for Omelette 10 or more minutes at peak times, no fresh orange juice, only concentrate. Not for a 5 star hotel, sorry, absolutely no go. If you need an example for good breakfast, go to Doha Rixos Gulf Hotel, they charge the same, and it's awesome. Also an Accor Group Hotel. The hotel wants to be 5 star, but with this attitude your are only 3 stars. Dear Mr. Manager, did you ever order food at the pool? So when you do so, the waiter is bringing it, but all the used plated and dishes from previous people are not removed, just left their, looks nice when you arrive at 2pm at the pool and there are like 5-7 dishes used. There is not possibility to order water, only beer and soft drinks, no water. On top of that, 1 out of 3 lifts in service, waiting always 10 minutes to get on a lift, sometimes when it arrives, it was full. Sorry, not for a 5 star hotel with that price, then you have to give discounted rates clearly marked for the inconvenience. I am open to discuss more your issues in the hotel, but as a final feedback, hotel is really on the wrong way, not matching 5 star hotel anymore. Sometimes refurbishement is also required in the bathrooms, and I was already staying on executive floor.
We stayed in a family room 2 adults 3 kids for a staycation and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The sofa bed mattress was very thin but ok for my 6 year old. We loved the central location, close to everything. The pool was great, buffet breakfast offered a good variety and the room had everything we needed. Great value for a family of 5.
I had a lovely Friday night stay at Swissotel Sydney in mid-October 2025. It has a minimalist, luxury feel. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. The bar and dining area is elegant and inviting with a nod to old-world charm. If I remember correctly, there was plenty of natural light coming through into the dining area which was nice. I enjoyed a pasta with prawn and crab in a tomato-chilli sauce for lunch on Saturday. The tofu poke bowl from the in-room dining menu on the Friday night was also good.
Great location and lovely views from the room, which made the stay enjoyable. However, the hotel is starting to show its age in both decor and maintenance. My in-room dining was pretty mediocre, presentation and taste wise - definitely not what you’d expect from a hotel of this rating. With some refurbishments and better food quality, it could live up to its reputation.
Comfortable, clean room. Central location and easy to find. All staff were incredibly friendly, professional, helpful and polite. Bar staff were amazing. Food prices and wait time for room service were the only let down.
