This hotel is probably pretty alright if you're doing a package or similar. As an Accor Platinum member who's stayed at multiple Pullmans, both in Australia and internationally, this hotel absolutely does not live up to the name and needs to be rebadged as a Mercure. I'd booked two rooms for my family, and communicated with the hotel during the week through email. Communication was slow, failed to answer a question surrounding valet parking twice, and instead focussed on trying to up-sell packages - a complete embarrassment for a 5-Star hotel. However, they confirmed alcohol would be removed from the second room as requested, and a welcome card or note on the TV's screen addressed to my nephew "you can rest assured we will make sure he has a special welcome to celebrate his first stay". Completed all pre-arrival check-ins prior to attending the hotel. On arrival, there was no one waiting for valet parking. However, after a phone call this was quickly addressed and helped with luggage. Gentleman was lovely and not being there on arrival can be forgiven though disappointing. Both rooms were available an hour early - haven't checked my bill to see if this was charged but don't belive so. Platinum benefits are always subject to availability but I belive all the up-selling was part of why there was no room upgrade, only an hour late checkout, and no welcome amenity. Again, I could forgive these issues if it hadn't been for all the alcohol being left in the second room, and absolutely no welcome message to my nephew. Not to mention the room was missing slippers, and both rooms have filthy coffee machines that have seemingly never been de-scaled, pouring out discoloured water and specs of filth when running an empty cycle. I raised the issue with the alcohol with the front desk, and given I was peeved off, the lack of amenity. When we returned from lunch 2 hours later, the alcohol had still not been removed. I'm normally not one to complain and "go Karen" but I was furious at this hotel and spoke with the manager. Alcohol was then removed and slippers delivered. A card and treat was later delivered to my nephew. I appreciated the sentiment but his name was mispelled and the magic was lost; kinda like a kid catching you pretending to be Santa. Blossom rooftop bar was pretty nice and looks like the photos. Nothing special but nothing bad, some nice views. Elevate Club Lounge was like bingo night at the RSL club, so bad that a Qantas domestic lounge would put it to shame. An elderly group partaking in house wine and beer, soda, and some of the most bizarre cheap canapés I've ever seen (no spirits). How they dare to charge $70 for the experience, and continue to show images online of oysters is absolutely beyond me. The rooms were all spacious, though some of the switches felt counter intuitive in their design. Additionally the over reliance on a somewhat spotty online only mini-bar menu .etc was a little annoying but is understandably the standard in a lot of hotels now. This hotel has absolutely lost the class of Pullman, and I could not recommend it to any other Accor member unless location is your sole consideration. I would not stay here again without a complete overhaul of their ethos. Edit: There was also undisclosed errors charged for the minibar but I can confirm these were promptly fixed by the hotel within 24-hours.
Our stay was amazing! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. The lobby was elegant and modern, and check-in was quick. The room had a stunning city view and all the amenities we needed. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The pool and gym were great additions too. A perfect place for both business and leisure stays in Melbourne.
Had the best stay! The location is fantastic! The roof top bar is amazing. And omg the omelette for breakfast was the best I have ever had 🤤. Comfy bed, great shower, and the rooms are really well equipped.
My sister and I had the pleasure of spending five nights at Pullman Hotel Melbourne CBD in July this year. Our room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Check in and out was very easy. Our package included a daily glass of wine, late checkout and daily breakfast. The breakfast could not be faulted, such a large choice and it was delicious. We will definitely book again for next year. Thank you for a lovely experience.
The hotel is right in the centre of everything — an unbeatable location within the free tram zone. We booked two rooms for two nights, and my friend had breakfast there. She said the breakfast offered a great variety of choices and the food was very tasty. One small thing: we weren’t given a map at check-in and only discovered it on our second night — wish we had known about it earlier! 😄 The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were mostly helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to come back next year. Thank you, Pullman Melbourne City Centre!
