Let me say to begin with, your staff are most accommodating, BUT, after checking in and opening the door to our room, to find a man lying on the bed reading was disconcerting. That mistake was rectified very quickly and we were placed in a new slightly larger room. We had to request more cups as there were only 2 in the room, even though there were two Queen beds and there were three of us. That on its own would probably be of little concern. Add to that the lacking in finishing touches with the obvious renovations done to the bathroom where the window slats were not even sealed properly and at least a 10mm gap at the top and another 10mm at the bottom, therefore allowing the freezing wind to blow in unrestricted. We informed the staff and they tried their best with towels to stem the wintry blast. Also, while we are still on the subject of the renovated bathroom, your contractors need to understand how to seal a shower. Water leaked into the main part of the bathroom, in front of the vanity with every shower we had. we tried to stem the flow with the bath mat supplied, but it failed miserably. The shower door was closed and the nozzle pointed straight down like most normal showers. We didn't mention it to the staff, as they could not have done anything whilst the room remained occupied. Our room was not serviced on the Sunday at all, so we had to request clean cups, towels and toilet paper. The reception staff again, were very quick to rectify the problem. Then on Monday morning our keycards to gain access to our room, stopped working and we had to be resupplied one card. All in all, a very disappointing stay.

I spent two nights at this comfortable, well-located hotel. While it is obviously an older hotel and the furnishings reflect this, I didn't mind that at all. It has a lovely atmosphere. My room was spacious with a very comfy bed. Everything was clean and tidy. I enjoyed sitting out in the little courtyard outside. All of the staff were so welcoming and friendly, including the cleaners and the service staff. The staff at the front desk on check-in and check-out were very helpful. The layout of the hotel was a little confusing to start with, but staff explained well using a clearly outline map. I enjoyed my stay a great deal.

We were allocated a room with a noisy air conditioner. When I requested to move, the staff were very willing to help and tested several rooms to ensure the room I chose was suitable. The change was effective and expertly executed. The quality of Breakfast does need to be improved. Only powdered scrambled egg for a choice and the orange juice ran out. For the cost (included in room tariff - value $26 each), the quality should have been better. The Hotel is old, rooms are small and less than Accor's usual standard, but it is very convenient to the Australian War Memorial.

Have stayed many many times at Mercure Canberra and I'm never disappointed. I always try to upgrade to the Loft Room for a bit of extra space and comfort. This time we had the lovely courtyard view. The room was clean and very quiet. Hotel staff are always friendly and helpful. Bistro had a good selection on their menu and we dined 2 nights, enjoying tasty and hearty meals. Breakfast included a good range of food options. My only minor complaint was the orange juice was more like orange cordial. Overall a great Hotel and I look forward to my next stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay with a large, comfortable room; king sized bed; and lovely grounds. The staff were very helpful and to top off our stay, we were blown away by the effort the hotel puts into ANZAC Day. Though lots of people came and it seemed like the kitchen was overwhelmed, it was a lovely meal and morning.
