This is a very old hotel. The wallls are paper thin. It is lovely and comfortable in that old style but you can hear all the sounds from adjacent rooms, upstairs and downstairs. If you’re using this hotel just to snooze and go venture Canberra during daylight, then it is the perfect choice and value. My room (105) was above the gym: every morning, an avid runner starts thumping the treadmill at 7am. I am an early riser so it doesn’t bother me. When I checked in, the guests upstairs were having loud sex or something. I don’t begrudge someone having a good time, but I can hear every single bump on the bed. I called reception and they did pipe down. The staff are amazing. There is ample parking out front. Would I come back? Yes but definitely would have extra ear plugs.

I visited for a conference and my husband and dog joined me for the trip. We had a wonderful time and the room was very comfortable and suitable for a small dog. The hotel has a few pet-friendly areas, having two people was helpful, as one could order meals etc, while the other sat with the dog. The staff were kind and helpful. We had a delightful stay.

The hotel is located close to attractions as well as close to the shops and restaurants. The deluxe loft was very spacious and well designed. Brand new bathroom and fittings and comfy bed. Balcony overlooking the garden was a treat and even witnessed a wedding reception. Lam at the Concierge Desk had been excellent and was helpful in sorting out everything for us! Thank you Lam!

The hotel has so much history and character. The rooms definitely need a refreshing done, though, especially the carpet. I stayed in a loft room, which was very cool. Although one thing reception should probably ask the guest is if they are ok to walk up stairs as their bathroom and bedroom are located in the loft while the kitchen and lounge are downstairs. Overall, the service was really good. Breakfast was nice as well! Good variety of things to eat.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Room was comfortable, heater worked well. Spare blanket in cupboard and the shower was lovely.Convenient location with a car. The only issue and really it wasn’t such a big one, was a few times we’d get back to the room after a day out and our room was still waiting to be serviced. Also note if you have mobility issues ask for a ground floor room.
