Sadly, the hotel's glam days are behind it. It feels very early 2000s and a bit tired overall. The staff are lovely and welcoming, which is a big plus. However, the hotel itself is quite dusty and dirty—from the old painted frames to my room and the lobby. It all felt like it needed a deep clean. On the upside, the location is great. The pool and spa are good, and there's even a TV to watch while you relax in the spa. The in-room jet spa bath is also a nice bonus. That said, cleanliness was a letdown. My room was noticeably dusty and not properly cleaned. I understand times are tough and cleaners may not be given enough time to do a detailed job, but it really affected my experience. The pillows and bedding were soft and comfortable, which I appreciated. Overall, for the price, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

The Stamford is pleasant, though I would not categorize it as a five-star establishment. Its location is advantageous, being just a short stroll away from bars, cafes, restaurants, shopping, and the theatre. Our interaction with the staff was limited, but they were sufficiently friendly during our check-in and check-out. My husband and I chose this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. In our previous experiences at other hotels for anniversaries, we have typically received special touches, such as a bottle of champagne in our room upon arrival and complimentary breakfast. Regrettably, we did not even receive a simple "happy anniversary" greeting when we checked in. Although we had made reservations for breakfast and parking, we were informed upon arrival that these bookings were not recorded, despite my husband’s clear recollection of making them. The room itself was cozy, quiet, and the beds were quite comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi; watching a movie while relaxing in the jacuzzi made for a delightful evening. While the hotel could benefit from some updates, I overall had an enjoyable stay.

We gave 1 star purely because we could not give any lower. The service of this hotel is not that of Stamford. With the exception of the night auditor and the reception staff. The breakfast is limited in selection, poor presentation and very limited. No drinking water bottles in your room unless you complain and ask for the manger to lodge a complaint. Other then the reception staff, the staff can hardly speak English which makes it difficult to communicate. On a particular day it was freezing cold and the room was no heated. When we asked for maintenance to come and fix the air con to heating we had to ask three times and when finally we had someone come to have a look he stated that he did not know what to do. The reception staff came to assist and they came to the conclusion that they cannot fix it either and advised that they did not have maintenance people after hours. They offered us an old blanket that you will not use for your pets to sleep on and am old heather that did not have a certification tag to note that it had been tested resulting in not using it as it looked old and doggy and we were to frighted that it could be faulty. The rooms are very old and tacky still in their original form and seems that they have never been mantained. This hotel.is simply run by Chinese, with the Chinese model cut costs at the cost of the customer but customers still have to pay top dollar despite the hotel hardly rates 2 stars. The Stamford group should monitor there brand. I will never recommend this hotel for its cost you can get much better value.

Very happy with our night at the Stamford. We got upgraded to a King suite and found the room to be lovely, spacious and clean. Extremely comfortable bed with a literal menu of pillows to choose from. Old school jacuzzi filled quickly and was nice and deep. Decent variety to choose from at breakfast and the service was excellent. Will definitely stay here again.

The location was fantastic and the Hotel was beautiful! However room service only made the bed and never took the rubbish away or replenished much needed stock in our room like sugar or toilet paper, even when requested. Need to know is you need to pay $55 per day for parking which is not under or next to the Hotel. You will need to walk to it. Charging us was a complete mess and we are still owed $600 despite calling multiple times and speaking to a manager.
