Sadly, the hotel's glam days are behind it. It feels very early 2000s and a bit tired overall. The staff are lovely and welcoming, which is a big plus. However, the hotel itself is quite dusty and dirty—from the old painted frames to my room and the lobby. It all felt like it needed a deep clean. On the upside, the location is great. The pool and spa are good, and there's even a TV to watch while you relax in the spa. The in-room jet spa bath is also a nice bonus. That said, cleanliness was a letdown. My room was noticeably dusty and not properly cleaned. I understand times are tough and cleaners may not be given enough time to do a detailed job, but it really affected my experience. The pillows and bedding were soft and comfortable, which I appreciated. Overall, for the price, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
The room was very disappointing. Poor lighting as the windows just face other tall buildings, poorly designed tiny bathroom with no door, they didn't service the room despite us using the "Make up Room" button. The rooms have noise coming from downstairs foyer. The bed was very comfortable, and the a/c very quiet, and 2 huge TVs. But, no choice for twin rooms. Good location, otherwise would not stay here again or recommend it.
After reading reviews on Google I was a little apprehensive when my friend booked here . After arriving early we were greeted with lovely smiles and were allowed to leave our bags as we went and explored Melbourne . Arriving back for check in , all was smooth . Heading to our room loved the glass elevators and looking out . Arriving to our room , we found it spacious and well set out with the kitchenette , couch and dining table. Bathroom was adequate as well and being able to close the bedroom doors if someone wanted to stay up and one to bed was great . Room was warm and cosy . Settling in we decided to head off to try out spa and pool . Amazing , the heat and the pressure was just what we needed after a lot of walking around our wonderful city . The bed was comfortable as were the pillows . Had very little outside noise as well. We travel to Melbourne often and change hotels , we will definitely head back to the Stamford .
Very happy with our night at the Stamford. We got upgraded to a King suite and found the room to be lovely, spacious and clean. Extremely comfortable bed with a literal menu of pillows to choose from. Old school jacuzzi filled quickly and was nice and deep. Decent variety to choose from at breakfast and the service was excellent. Will definitely stay here again.
Enjoyed my stay here. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Loads of smiles. My room Was up graded on arrival, which was a great start. Had a swim in the indoor pool and soak in the spa pool. 😎
