My partner and I love staying here. It's our 3rd visit. The staff are friendly. We love the spa with the glass ceiling. The location is perfect part of the city. The rooms are more spacious than most hotels. Extremely comfortable and affordable.
I have had such a disappointing experience with this hotel. This was a special occasion to mark my daughter’s 12th Birthday. On arrival they requested I pay a holding fee on top of my accommodation. As I was staying two nights it should have been $200. They charged me $400. They were apologetic but as this was meant to be our spending money and we could not get it back for 3-5 days it was really inconvenient. When we went to our room the cards didn’t work so we had to go back to reception. Once we got into to our room we waited patiently for our bags. They never came and we had to call for them. When we went to check out I was up front what we used in the mini bar. Despite this I was charged a minibar fee after I arrived home. Another $5 I won’t see for 3-5 days. Overall a disappointing experience.
Really enjoyed our stay here. The young staff member in reception ‘PK’ was super friendly and helpful. We stayed for 3 nights and she greeted us by name and with a huge smile each time we walked through reception over that time. PK is a credit to this hotel. They are lucky to have her. We also found the staff in the breakfast area to be friendly and helpful. The room was a one bedroom apartment with kitchenette. In all it was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants and transport but is very quiet at night. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved our stay at the Stamford Plaza Melbourne. We booked five rooms and were so happy that they managed to have us all on the same floor. The motel is perfect location. Walking distance to everything. Our rooms were lovely, we stayed 5 nights and were so happy with house keeping, It was lovely coming back to a nice clean room everyday. Breakfast was great and there was more than enough variety. Fabian the concierge was lovely and friendly and more than happy to help guide us in the right direction to city sites we wanted to see. All the staff were all lovely as well.
The location is great. The staff are friendly and helpful. But this is one of the weirdest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. There is very little natural light. The decor feels very late 90s. And the electrical system in the rooms feels like you are trapped in a physics test, constantly trying to figure out which combination of switches turns the lights on
