I have been going in and out of different hotels all over the world due to the nature of my work and so far, I have received the best and warmest welcome from Dharam Shah and William Jan! Exceptional service and great conversation and interaction. I had a stressful situation with my airport pick up cab but both of them have made my day turn to a beautiful one! Just out here giving credit where credit is due! Great assets for Stamford Plaza! Well done!
Rooms are old but nice, however, public areas have not been maintained. There is crust on elevator buttons as they are seemingly never cleaned, chlorine stains all over the walls and ceilings on the pool, hot tub has missing tiles, finger prints all over the doors and glass lifts. I quite like older style hotels, but the public areas just feel gross.
Hotel is definitely ageing. Staff are great. Pool and sauna great. Location great. We got a 2 bedroom suite with breakfast and parking for $500p/n. They charge extra for everything, including $5 for a bottle of water, which seems a bit tight for such an old hotel and high price. The elevators are see through - if you’re afraid of heights, like our son, get a ground floor room.
Rooms were nice and staff generally kind and polite. However, we called to check if any of the food/ tea/ coffee/ milk was complementary (I understand that hotel room food isn’t usually free, but the water in the fridge was labelled $5 - ludicrous price btw. With nothing else labeled) I tried to call the lobby and concierge, opted for a callback (which came 30 minutes later) and asked what items we would be charged for. I was told that the tea, coffee, milk, and snacks were complementary to the room. Fast forward and we were charged $33 for room service. We called the hotel and were met with rude staff, and an unwillingness to assist in any way. Very dissatisfying experience, will not be staying here again.
Hotel is very close to all your shopping and food needs. Staff are friendly and the room was nice. I was rather annoyed as we booked the hotel to use the roof spa but it was down the whole week for maintenance. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.
