Was warmly welcomed and room was ready, spic and span!, with a great view over the pool area. Pool nice for relaxing under umbrellas, with plenty of space for families, staff were kept busy bringing cocktails poolside. Indoor common areas spacious for guests, with a lovely terrace restaurant, and a delicious range for either table or Room Service. Tried both, both excellent, well done chefs!! Bar area could do with a refresh of menu, nevertheless Grand Chancellor chain offers good overall experience.
Our experience at the Grand Chancellor was truly delightful. The staff was warm and welcoming, creating a pleasant atmosphere throughout our stay. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a charming and cheerful receptionist who made the check-in process seamless and enjoyable. We were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgraded room that was impeccably arranged, offering a high level of comfort and attention to detail. The hotel's facilities were outstanding, surpassing those of any property I have visited before. Overall, it was an excellent stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and comfortable experience in Adelaide.
Staff are lovely and friendly and helpful. Bring ear plugs for the corridor and pool noise. Bring an eye mask because there’s a red smoke detector light so bright it’s like sharing your room with the HAL 9000 computer. All night it’s like dawn on Mars. The car park seems designed for matchbox cars only. If you drive a human size car expect to be swearing, scraping, and squeezing.
Do NOT BOOK for business travel if you want a good night's sleep. The rooms have a crazy bright green light on the smoke alarm and it makes your room so bright at night time it's impossible to sleep. Im on night two of a 3 night business trip and asked if I could move to a room without the light; they said it's not possible and to deal with it - the pillows are cheap and limp, the TV is perpendicular to the bed so can't be watched from the bed at all. There is no mini bar in the room you have to use a QR code and are not 24 hours. Room service finishes at 11pm. Breakfast is awful and only stars at 7am with machine coffee unless you want to pay extra for a bad barista coffee. The location is decent but is surrounded by seedy massage joints and I wouldn't be comfortable staying with my family here. The gym is really small and not well equipped, the pool isn't anything like the photos in reality. The USB ports for power don't work - overall I am extremely disappointed with my experience
Both the EV charging stalls in the cramped, tight spaced underground car park were non functional for the entire stay of 4 days - which is at least part of the reason we chose to stay here. Meanwhile room 501 is around the corner from the lift which rings incessantly night and day with departures and arrivals. The gap under the door to this room is huge and all sound comes straight into the room. A sociologist needs to conduct a study of the social interactions that take place while waiting for a lift because - night and day - we could hear these conversations in our room, through ear plugs. Meanwhile there is a red LED light on the wall (not the smoke detector, that’s an entirely other light) that shines across the room like HAL9000 or Dawn on Mars. Returning to the car park - for entertainment feel free to bring some deck chairs and throw them down near the lift in that car park and watch people in SUVs and Mini’s alike conducting 12 point turns as the try to work their way out without damaging more than absolutely necessary their car, other cars, the wall, the weird concrete columns that are right in the middle of the driving path, etc. It’s fun to watch, but feel free to get your hands dirty and muck in with some amateur traffic direction - it’s not your car after all … until it is…
