4.5 stars. Arrived very early from an early flight. Great location, only a short walk from Central station. They were happy to hold our bags and they requested our room be serviced as quickly as possible. We went out and arrived back at the hotel a couple of hours before the advertised check in time and our room was ready. The room itself was perfect for our short stay. We did request 2 x single beds, but upon arrival the bed configuration was 1 x king bed. A call to reception and this was rectified without fuss. Beds were very comfortable. Room also contained a couch, bar fridge and desk/desk chair. Room temp could be controlled easily and the blackout blinds kept out the early morning light. No issues at all with noise from either inside or outside the hotel. The bathroom was adequate and the shower head was large with great water pressure and hot water. One area for improvement might be that the TV had limited channels. After a bit of mucking around with connection, chrome cast was able to be used to view content from my phone on the TV. I read a few complaints about people having to wait a long time for the lifts. We came and went multiple times throughout our stay and I would say that the longest wait time we had was 60 seconds. Perfectly fine in my book. The pool area was great. It included a good size pool, spa and sauna. Our room rate included a buffet breakfast in the adjoining restaurant. Standard hotel buffet breakfast. Quite expensive if paying full price. The bacon was probably the only thing to complain about in my opinion. Very soft and sitting in a congealed fatty liquid made it unappealing. Plenty of other options however. Great range of fresh fruit was also available to make your own juice. Overall, the room was not cheap, but no hotels in Sydney really are. The location, facilities and included breakfast made it a good value for money stay. The service was actually impeccable. The reception desk was always well staffed and all staff we encountered were very friendly, helpful and competent. I would have absolutely no hesitation staying here again next time I’m in Sydney.

Great service. Room was fresh, comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast was average, but okay. The location is good - very close to public transport options and easy to get into the city and other sites of interest.

The hotel is conveniently located, just a 5-minute walk from Central Station via Eddy Avenue, making it close to everything you need and the CBD. Overall, my stay was fine- no major complaints, but I wouldn’t call it exceptional. One concern I noticed was the open access to the hotel entrance. Random people from outside would come in and sit on the couches near the reception area. I also observed some people entering to use the toilets located one level up, near the seminar room (Oxford/Taylor or something similar). This raises a safety concern, and I hope the hotel management will address this issue to ensure a more secure environment for guests.

As others have mentioned, the customer service here was disappointing. I am leaving this review in the hope that improvements will be made. I stayed for two nights, but after the room cleaning, the floor mat and towels were not replenished. The plastic bags in the trash bins were also carelessly placed. On the second day, the body soap ran out, so I requested a new one. However, what was delivered to my room was a diluted, water-like version of body soap. Why would this happen? I would expect at least the minimum level of service. That said, the room was spacious and clean. Thank you.

We spent 5 night at Rydges. For the price they charge I would say that. Lots of maintenance issues around the hotel, aircon broken in room, lifts with noisy doors. Very small dining room with bad acoustic so you can't enjoy your breakfast even if the dining is half full. Average breakfast with limited options (for the price they charge). I had a dirty spoon served on my table which was very bad experience. Location is great though. Don't expect too much.
