By far the best thing about this place was the staff! They were honestly wonderful and i was happy with every interaction i had with them, no matter the time of day. 10/10 There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, the tv was a bit tricky to figure out, my iPhone also wasn’t connecting to the samsung tv so was unable to share my screen for youtube etc, and the street got a little loud even for a Monday night. But the pillows were the comfiest Ive felt & it was still the nicest place ive been to yet and im grateful for my experience, would recommend, 8/10!
This was the worst stay we’ve had in a four star hotel. The bathroom is quite old and worn with some hooks even hanging off slightly and tiles not appealing to step on. The worst part was how loud the air conditioning was, a constant buzzing sound (the type an old fridge makes) coming from the ceiling and hearing the lift every time it moved as our room was close to it. We slept terribly. Do bring earplugs. The only positives were the spacious room, excellent central location, friendly staff and otherwise clean room. We will not be staying here again and don’t recommend unless those points don’t bother you.
They refused to give me an invoice, which is against the Australian law for sells higher than $82.50. The hotel is very tired, especially the bathrooms. The pillows are to high and not soft - keeping your neck bended and strained. The breakfast is a rip off - they call it buffet but the choice is very poor and you can hardly find veggies. The location is good and the staff are nice and efficient. The cleanliness was also ok.
My wife and I stayed at the Mercure Perth on Hay for once night. A good central location with easy access to the Perth CBD, ferries, and Kings Park. The staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet was good. The key issue was that the room was a little run down and in need of updating, particularly the bathroom.
Location was great and the bed was super comfy, however the breakfast was 100% not worth the extra money! I was so annoyed that I had to wait 20 mins for more scrambled eggs and then when there was eggs, there was no more bacon, the eggs were cold and then the staff just seemed like they couldn't be bothered. It was irritating as i was really looking forward to a nice breakfast each morning except i went to a cafe each morning after to get better food and service.
