Close proximity to the city. Has sustainability measures in place to support the environment and staff go over and above board to ensure guests needs are met. Staff helped me during my very early morning checkout and went above and beyond to ensure it was successfully completed.
We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Overall, staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms were comfortable, though a little dated. The key card system needs updating. Noticed many guests had issues using their room card.
The Novotel felt like a tired motel. But it wasn’t all bad - the staff were friendly and efficient. The hair dryer was surprisingly good despite its small size and the pillows were lovely and soft. But that didn’t quite make up for the paper thin walls where conversations in the hallway and rooms around you are a shared experience. The bed sank in the middle so it was an intimate night. The light fixtures in the bathroom were falling out of the ceiling and the toilet seat wouldn’t stay up for my partner so he had to hold it in place. The tiles were cracked and the carpet was coming up. There was only a black out curtain so there was no privacy option. The lighting doesn’t lend itself to doing make up either. There was no mini bar or water bottles. All in all I would not stay here.
Hotel housekeeping stole my jewellery after I accidentally left it in the room and refused to own up to it, even after being told how significant and irreplaceable the items were. Reception staff were also rude and unhelpful when I enquired, really disappointed. Wouldn't waste your money on this place and definitely double check you've taken all your things!
I have started the establishment accordingly, the rooms are very clean and the housekeeping staff should be proud, the bed are comfy and everything looks and feels shiny and clean. The check-in process and bookings are fine if you book at the counter or online but do not ring up as the staff cannot understand English enough and ver the phone. Now here is my biggest issue, the parties in the ball room on the 1st floor, I was staying on the 2nd floor and could here banging music and thudding all night long and I then went down to the 5 senses restaurant to fill my water bottle and 5 English men and women literally all fell into the lift falling into me and spilling alcohol everywhere, when I asked them to show some decorum and manners I was met with anger, hostility a few remarks about my clothes and my style and a concern for my safety, I was left feeling embarrassed and very disappointed in this lack of control over the guests from the management staff, these kids should not have been allowed to become so intoxicated in a “ball room” in a 4 star establishment.
