Reviews for Novotel Surfers Paradise

It is located right in the heart of Surfers Paradise. It is close to most of the amenities you could think of and the hotel has great view (either ocean or mountain view). What strikes me most was the presence of staff were almost everywhere so you would always get help if you need it. Priced reasonably and the stay was very good. Gym and pool looked really good but not big of course. For Novotel standard, this is better than the one in Canberra. Easy 8/10

Location, staff & buffet breakfast is all great! We have stayed at Novotel Surfers Paradise many times. Honestly the rooms are really dated, no matter which room you book. One power point in the tiny bathroom is ridiculous. One power point between two double beds also ridiculous. Hand rail in bathtub was literally coming off the wall, whole in the mini bathroom cupboard. Book a Hinterland room and end up looking at tops of buildings from our balcony. Book an ocean view room pay the extra for one large bed for two and end up in a small room with two double beds. The hotel doesn’t only need painting, it needs to be fully refurbished. Sorry but we will sadly not be returning to this hotel!

Novotel Surfers Paradise offers an unbeatable combination of comfort, convenience, and top-notch service. From the moment I arrived, the staff made check-in seamless and welcoming. My room was spacious, clean, and modern, with stunning views and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The hotel's location is perfect—right by the beach, near the train station, and surrounded by great shopping and dining options, making it easy to explore the area. Although some areas including pool were under maintenance, this hardly impacted my overall experience. If you're looking for a well-located, comfortable stay in Surfers Paradise, Novotel is a fantastic choice!

I stayed here for 4 nights, and was on floor 18 and found the room modern and very comfortable. Great city and semi sea view on the balcony. I did think the shower pressure could have been better, but I feel that's standard for most hotels. Very comfortable bed and pillows. A GREAT location right next door to the Paradise Centre mall, very close to a Woolworths store that is just downstairs, and other eateries and shops on Cavill Avenue etc. Buffet Breakfast was excellent, especially the omelettes. Lots of selection of your standard hot full English/Aussie style breakfast fare, plus cereal, toast, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, coffee, juice, etc. My *one* complaint was when trying to ring for room service /several/ times on Tuesday night; the line was always busy, then kept ringing, and then finally when it got answered I got someone who was having a full on aggressive conversation with someone else in the background and hung up. So I went to the mall for food instead. I found the bar staff at BLVD quite prickly at times when I was redeeming my drink vouchers. Like they were constantly on edge and ready for combat, despite me being nothing but friendly = which wasn't a good look or feel. So I feel like the BLVD food and drinks section in particular requires a lot of work in comparison to the rest of the hotel. The elevators could be a little long to come, but again I feel that's standard with most Hotels and you just have to take that into consideration and not expect to get down to say breakfast in an instant with 36 floors and 408 rooms all vying for 4 lifts. Even on the 18th floor I could hear the general noise of the city, but again I felt this was standard and expected with the location being right in the heart of Cavill Mall and Surfers, which is kind of the reason you choose this spot, so the rowdiness of the area is to be expected, but wasn't so much so that it stopped me from sleeping or anything. All in all I would recommend the Hotel and would definitely come here again, just be realistic with your own expectations with regards to the location and amenities, and give BLVD a miss.

Great location, decent stay but the hotel needs a refresh. Stayed at Novotel Surfers Paradise recently and overall had a decent experience, but it’s clear the hotel is showing its age. The rooms and common areas definitely need renovation everything feels dated and a bit tired for a brand like Novotel. That said, the location is excellent, right in the heart of Surfers, walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The service was a mixed bag. Some staff were indifferent, but others really stood out. Special thanks to Mia at the bar, and another lovely lady (also of Japanese origin) who made the experience warmer and more welcoming. Their attitude and attentiveness made a noticeable difference. With some updates and more consistent service training, this property has a lot of potential.
