Reviews for Stamford Plaza Brisbane

Lovely, best-of-both-worlds old-style luxury and modern plumbing! We stayed here in March for my husband's international high school reunion and it couldn't have been nicer. The breakfast buffet had an enormous selection, including gluten free options. Totally forgot to take a photo of the room, but the view from our room was stupendous. Very nice personnel, from the front desk to the wait staff. Fantastic location for sightseeing, close to public transport. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Stamford Plaza Brisbane! From the moment we arrived, the girls at the front desk and concierge went above and beyond to accommodate us. They kindly allowed us to check in early as my little one needed to rest after an early flight, and they even helped me print some important documents during our stay. So helpful and genuinely caring. The buffet breakfast was excellent every morning. It was a great start to our days with plenty of delicious options and friendly service. The staff are doing an amazing job, even under pressure. I witnessed one of the receptionists being spoken to very rudely by a man who appeared to be in Brisbane for work. I honestly wish I knew which company he worked for so I could let them know how poorly he treated the staff. The Stamford team handled the situation with professionalism and grace, which says a lot about the quality of service here. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

I stayed at Stamford Plaza Brisbane for a weekend getaway and was genuinely impressed by the location—right on the river and just steps from the City Botanic Gardens. The view from my room was absolutely beautiful, especially at sunset when the river glowed and the Story Bridge lit up. The hotel has a very classic, old-world charm. The lobby is grand with marble floors and gold accents, which gives it a slightly regal feel. The staff were polite and helpful throughout my stay—check-in was smooth, and they were happy to accommodate my early arrival. My room was spacious and the bed super comfy, with crisp linens and plush pillows. That said, some of the furnishings and decor felt a bit tired—like it hasn’t been updated in a while. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting if you prefer more modern interiors. I tried the buffet breakfast, which had a good spread, though the dining area was quite busy. I also recommend Kabuki, their in-house Japanese teppanyaki restaurant—it was a fun and delicious experience! The pool area is nice, though it can get crowded in the afternoons. Gym was clean and well-equipped for a short workout. Overall, Stamford Plaza is a great choice if you’re looking for a central, comfortable stay with stunning views and a touch of old-school elegance. It could use a bit of a refresh, but the charm and location definitely make up for it.

We recently enjoyed a beautiful high tea at the Stamford Plaza and couldn’t be happier with the experience! A huge thank you to Christine, who organised everything so smoothly in the lead-up—she made the whole process easy. On the day, Louisa our head waitress was lovely and made sure everything ran perfectly. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. All dietary requirements were catered for, which we really appreciated. The fresh flowers and elegant table setting added such a lovely touch. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful and well-run high tea experience!

Incredibly disappointed. The lack of attention to detail and service was unexpected. I’ve stayed here in the past and had a great stay but you can see the deterioration of the customer service and attention to detail. The room was missing items, the phone to reception worked until I was hung up on. I tried to call again but the phone wouldn’t even ring. It didn’t work until I had a phone call from in-room dining as they used dairy milk in a chai latte instead of an alternative option. I used the phone option as I am disabled and going down to the reception area required energy I didn’t want to spend on a relaxing stay during a work trip, especially after having to park off-site and walk back to the hotel. Staying in a 5 star hotel there is a standard that should be met. When bringing up my concerns, the staff were immediately defensive and their attempts to gaslight and downplay the situation was highly inappropriate. The room itself was fine, though under the beds could do with a much needed vacuum. If you choose a stay for the whole experience or business trip, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all.
