Hotel
•The Stamford Plaza Brisbane overlooks the Brisbane river, sitting proudly as one of the city's most sought-after function venues (and places to stay). The elegant hotel is a consummate host for weddings, engagement parties, launches, conferences and important business events. The grand staircase and foyer of the Stamford Plaza Brisbane Hotel, alongside the riverside gardens, provide a stunning backdrop for events that require a lavish setting and memorable photographs. The Stamford Plaza Brisbane offers events a number of venue options, ranging from the luxuriously appointed ballroom to boardrooms for small meetings. The hotel's event spaces can just as easily host an engagement party as a conference – with dining options on-site ranging from teppenyaki to a riverside bistro.

For the price, the stay didn’t scream 5 stars. The rooms were clean and quite comfortable, but a lot of the furniture is old and worn. The rooms are a bit smelly (I wish the windows could be opened) and the amenities are cheap quality. The toilet paper was barely 2 ply and scratchy. The towels were rough and did not feel luxurious at all. The TV should have inbuilt smart features such as Netflix and YouTube; connecting via your phone is clunky and tedious. I also would’ve appreciated some variety in the pillows; they were really flat and many people prefer a firmer pillow that offers proper neck support. In many ways, it does feel like the hotel are cutting costs and buying cheaper products. I don’t think you should be charging the prices you do per night, claiming to be 5 stars, then only providing cheap 2 ply toilet paper. I would also recommend having smaller lighting options for the bathroom; a small downlighting option, like a lamp, would be ideal so people who are sensitive to light can have a nicer, more relaxing (and ideally dimmable) lighting option for the bathroom. Overall, a nice stay, but certainly not 5 stars.
Great configuration, all rooms are facing spectacular riverside. Rooms are old-fashioned but kept in good order. Room service is average, did not clean rubbish bin on one of the three nights I stayed there. Terrible in terms of car park - it is in basement, but only stairs access to lobby from the outside, probably worth stopping at the ground floor, offload the luggage then proceed to car park.
Went here for a work conference. After flying 28 hours from US I arrived approximately 0700. They wouldn’t let me check in until 1400. Said there were no rooms available but yet multiple times I saw flight crews arrive and get a room, long before 1400. Huh, I thought they didn’t have any rooms. Told them when I checked in that I was leaving a day early. The front desk didn’t mention they had a 24-hour notice policy (before you check in) to avoid early check out fee (which is the room rate) and it wasn’t until after I checked out that I discovered they charged me the night I didn’t stay. Convenient for them that nights fee was almost double what it was the first two nights. Almost 500.00. Then when I got ready to leave they insisted I check out by 1100 or they would charge me $35.00 an hour for each hour I stayed. What a rip off. I have no idea why anyone would stay at this place. Australia sucks! This hotel is beyond horrible. The rooms are ok but be prepared they’re going to screw you. And they’re not going to even kiss you afterwards.
High tea at the Stamford, highly recommend, delightful food and really excellent service! A 75th birthday gift for a friend, and they pulled out all the stops to make it a memorable occasion for her. I had mentioned her GF restrictions, on booking, and , seeing her using a walking stick, a gluten free platter was delivered to the table, followed by a beautifully decorated birthday plate, sparkler included, and a birthday serenade from the staff! Thank you, everyone, she was overwhelmed!
We are so glad we chose Stamford Plaza for our stay in Brisbane, we just loved our stay. The room was very spacious with an amazing view of the Brisbane River and the city. The hotel is conveniently located, literally steps away from the Kangaroo Point Bridge (which offers a nice view of the city skyline) and short walks away from the riverside ferry terminal (with ferry services to Howard Smith Wharves and New Farm riverwalk) and the vibrant Queen Street Mall. The staff were very welcoming as well. The only thing which we would have appreciated is if they had a water refill station somewhere in the hotel; it’s a pretty basic amenity that should be provided. But overall, we loved our stay and would love to be back again if we get a chance to visit Brisbane again in future.
