Went here for a work conference. After flying 28 hours from US I arrived approximately 0700. They wouldn’t let me check in until 1400. Said there were no rooms available but yet multiple times I saw flight crews arrive and get a room, long before 1400. Huh, I thought they didn’t have any rooms. Told them when I checked in that I was leaving a day early. The front desk didn’t mention they had a 24-hour notice policy (before you check in) to avoid early check out fee (which is the room rate) and it wasn’t until after I checked out that I discovered they charged me the night I didn’t stay. Convenient for them that nights fee was almost double what it was the first two nights. Almost 500.00. Then when I got ready to leave they insisted I check out by 1100 or they would charge me $35.00 an hour for each hour I stayed. What a rip off. I have no idea why anyone would stay at this place. Australia sucks! This hotel is beyond horrible. The rooms are ok but be prepared they’re going to screw you. And they’re not going to even kiss you afterwards.
High tea at the Stamford, highly recommend, delightful food and really excellent service! A 75th birthday gift for a friend, and they pulled out all the stops to make it a memorable occasion for her. I had mentioned her GF restrictions, on booking, and , seeing her using a walking stick, a gluten free platter was delivered to the table, followed by a beautifully decorated birthday plate, sparkler included, and a birthday serenade from the staff! Thank you, everyone, she was overwhelmed!
Having stayed here a few times Pre Covid this hotel felt grand and elegant. Stayed here recently and oh how it has changed. 1. No More Valet Parking. 2. No Pleasantries when checking in or out. 3. No tissues or handwash in the bathroom. 4. You had to climb in the bath to use the shower - accident waiting to happen!! 5. The room was filthy - dust/ dirt everywhere 6. The dining area felt like I was at a Backpackers, very cheap decor , seats and tables (now that it is an Argentinian restaurant the outdoor area has seriously gone downhill) and so has the buffet breakfast. Would not now class the Stamford as a 5* hotel.
Reviewing the buffet breakfast - have attended on a few occasions now.. even met Chef Anish whom kindly offered to cook us a special breakfast meal! Always exceptional food and service.. the local breakfast meal deal price is amazing value too.. 5 star 🌟 thankyou chef 👨🍳 and staff....
I recently had the misfortune of dealing with this so called elite accomodation venue, we booked a superior room with a romantic package for our anniversary making sure parking was included… We get there finally running late after the busy and extremely chaotic traffic surrounding this venue at the time and are told our room was not ready (4:45pm) we then were told there was no parking available as they were full and they were first in best dressed type of place, we were told are to park off site with only a short 300m walk back the hotel, Yet again another promise everything deliver nothing experience was had. Be careful booking with this MOTEL…
