Didn’t stay here we went for the Wizardry High Tea during school holidays. The savourys were okay, but the sandwiches were the worse things I’d tried from a hotel I can’t lie. But the sweets were absolutely delicious. Would I recommend, probably not, especially for the price . Although it was an experience. The atmosphere was different, could do with a better ambiance out in the dining area. It was a nice set up with the decorations. Okay service, parking was a-bit of an issue.

We didn't stay just visited for a function. The function room had a beautiful view of the river with two balcony's with great views of the story bridge. The decor is quite outdated and for a 5 star hotel I thought it would be more modern. Food was delicious and staff were friendly and gave good service.

I stayed at this location 2 weeks ago as part of a multi-national conference held at the hotel. Although my experience while in the hotel was good, it has been a nightmare to get any type of assistance following my stay. My flight was delayed so I had another conference attendee let the front desk know that i would arrive later that evening or early the next morning (no change to my stay at the hotel). I arrived early the next morning and checked in. Nothing was said to me about a change to my reservation. Once I returned I went through the receipt and realized I was charged a No show fee and charged exponentially more for my stay each day than what it was booked under. I emailed the email address on the receipt multiple times and did an inquiry on the website. I only received one response, which was from my website inquiry but when I explained the situation I received no response. I was charged around double what it was booked as and have a travel claim I can not complete because I can't get any assistance in resolving this issue. As highly rated as this hotel is I would expect that I would at least receive a response to my multiple inquiries. Instead, I will likely have to front these charges so my credit isn't effected. This is not the level of customer service I expect from an establishment such as this one so it only gets one star.

Enjoyed the classical room styling and attentive staff at the bars and restaurants. Although reception was understaffed, concierge were fabulous however I am only rating 3 stars for service as we could not get a response when calling room service, concierge and reception which were continuously engaged. After 20 minutes of no successful contact we had to go down to reception to order a basic cheese board at 2:30 pm. Unacceptable for the rates they charge that the phones are not manned. And on another note. We asked for ice the night we checked in and were charged $5 for a small bucket. I’ve been In the hospitality industry for over 40 years and I have never been charged for ice, it should be complimentary especially given the rates charged.

Stayed again last week because the view of the Story Bridge is simply the best. It would be improved if old school nostalgic opulence could meet modern technology expectations in the rooms. Guests do expect high speed internet and smart T.V’s in 2024.
