Credit’s where credit’s due, the staff were really proactive in trying to help me solve an issue with my Accor account. The rooms were comfortable and clean, not the most modern but they did the job. I only wish they provided a memory foam pillow like Pullman Sydney Hyde Park. Do ask that you are given a better room because I had to ask that seeing that there were some bad reviews and was a bit skeptical. Location is excellent, within walking distance to the south bank and all the major attractions in the city centre. I’d definitely stay here again.

As a diamond elite member, I’ve stayed at many 5 star All Accor hotels around the world, and this one is the worst by far, and by a mile. Calling it a 5 star hotel is a stretch. 4 star at best. Please do us a favour and not deceive us by claiming you’re a 5-star hotel. There was no upgrade offered upon check-in. The service was non-existant. No executive or club lounge. Gym was at the hotel next door and very small and basic… the list goes on. While the hotel and room were spotlessly clean, it seems to be very dated. There was no hot water upon checking in and the hotel sent three maintenance staff to fix it (bravo to these gents for kept trying and managed to fix the problem). Should have checked it before a guest checks in vs letting them have a cold shower first. Tried calling operator/front desk many times during the stay for simple inquiries, however most times, it took me 20-30 minutes to get through. And when I asked for someone to be sent to pick up the laundry, I was told to send it myself to the concierge, and I flatly refused. Someone eventually showed up 30 minutes later after a couple of calls to follow up. For one of the days, there was no housekeeping done even though I left the room at 12 noon and left the “make the room” sign hanging outside. Definitely won’t be staying here again.

The bed was super comfortable and black out blinds worked well. The bathroom was a little outdated with a shower head in a bath tub. No bright lighting in the bathroom, quite dull lights. The desk chair was pealing and didn’t look good to be there in that condition. The window ledge and seal was very dirty with dust and cobwebs. Road traffic noise was loud and the noise when people above used water was loud through the pipes. More attention to detail would have been appreciated. Staff was friendly and the lobby was well kept.

Opted for an upgrade at check in from balcony room to an executive room with no balcony, not sure what the difference in room was. Rooms are nice enough, sufficient for needs. Sadly pool was closed for renovations, had I known at the time of booking I would've gone somewhere else. We were also not told when we checked in that this was the case and that we could go to the Sofitel Pool area down the road which an access voucher. Found this out the next day when watching TV! After a night out I was looking forward to ordering room service but was sadly disappointed by the offerings of 3 choices at 11pm. Did the buffet breakfast the following morning, coffee machine didn't work so was offered a barista made coffee. Breakfast was ok, scrambled eggs the only egg offerings, not even fried eggs! Check out was odd, stood at the desk, said hello then nothing happened about checking out when there were 3 staff at the desk, another person was served before me even though I was standing at the desk in front of them.

Stayed few days at this [advertised 5 star] hotel and totally disappointed with the quality of rooms and service received during the stay. ( I normally dont go low in star rating on google but this experience was really awful and made me to rate and write this review with some major and minor issues.) I have been using several high star (4&5 star) hotels in Brisbane and other cities and never got disappointed like Pullman. 1- during the booking and reservation was promised for high floor room (cost was ~$350 per night)which they served the 2-3 floor above the ground room. 2- during reservation promised the sound proof rooms but the windows were not double glazed and could not sleep over the nights as CBD was playing some classic music starting from midnight until 3-4AM which was annoying, could even hear the taxi door shut slams. 3-during the booking and reservation was shown and advertised for swimming pool and other facilities which as soon as walked in to the lift noticed that its under renovation and the alternate solution was using another hotel (Sofitel) swimming pool using a paper voucher which was 30minutes walk round trip and totally discomforting. clearly did not use the sofitel swimming pool as did not make sense to got wet in cold weather outside and expecting in-house hotel. After getting to the room, while was disappointed with the room floor and pool situation, tried to use the hotel phone and call the reception, concierge and room service and could not get hold of any of them, they were not picking up the phones, or just hang up without saying anything. Tried using my mobile and contacted the hotel main line and finally someone picked up and after sharing the issues received no positive response. checked the room and found some basic items that usually 5star hotels provides are missing such as slippers pen, cutlery (forks, knives, ...) the air-conditioning was not working properly and the room temperature was about 22 and very chill specially over nights and never get warm air from it. the walls were damaged and patched un-professionally and the TV "any connect" function to mirror the screen was not working. the room was not same as the photos advertised during stay, for instance the balcony was missing the table and chairs ( which then makes no sense to have a balcony when cannot use it and also only 1 armchair meaning if you have a guest meeting you for a business topic or so cannot accompany you. and the balcony was not clean and full of dust and debris. tried going in person to reception, asked for slippers and swimming pool and instead of saying sorry and being understanding they said we told the website about swimming pool and cannot do anything with the floor and got only slippers. obviously I was not trying too hard and be out of rage or short tempered because I am not that type when on holiday but was really disappointed and never had to ask for these basics from other hotels. found some other guests at lift or restaurant and it seems they all had very similar issue and they were not that happy with thee hotel and the service too. generally I really cannot rate the hotel more than 3 star. Did think alot to push it towards 4 star but frankly saying it doesn't deserve when thinking to other 4 star experiences I had. other guests were saying Pullman is basically using its brand to rip off the guests and they dont really care anymore to customer expectations and satisfaction. I would highly suggest to not waste your money for your luxury stay at pullman because you wont experience it. would suggest other hotels such as Novotel, Next, Hudson or Hyatt. Hope they change their way otherwise will be out of competition very soon.
